That's really rather sad about your own betrayal experience, especially given that it's your own brother. I can sort of relate as I don't really speak to any of my siblings. The three older ones I've not spoken to since the late 1990's and the younger one I spoke to recently, but that was the first time in several years. Unfortunately these things happen, but as you say, you just have to accept and move on. @@PBProps From a fellow Brit, right back at cha. I hope we meet at a convention one day. The only prop I've really made (short of stuff for my own films) was a full-scale Harold Ramis Proton Pack for my g/f's son. Damn thing would have been cheaper to buy ready made but it was an experience. :)

I don't ordinarily do conventions, but you never know. Maybe one day we'll meet - you'll probably recognise me by the clothes that I always wear! (Means that I never have to make any fashion decisions and can easily get dressed in the dark with impunity!) I bet building the Proton Pack was a fun. Always fancied this myself, but it'll never happen. I'm also not that well versed on it either - and I really can't be arsed joining a forum just to get the details. Oh well...

@@PBProps You don't need the forums if you ever need to make one. I have all my design files floating around somewhere, including the electronics and the software to drive the lights and sound too. I really SHOULD put them on my Github page. I re-worked the handset part from the ground up in FreeCAD but the hardest bit was getting the display to work. The bit that appears to have perhaps 20-30 LEDs in a row. And this is at a time when LEDs were expensive and large. Far too large for that display and even today it can't easily be done using SMD. The solution is ... crazy and only needs 4-6 LEDs to make it work.

Through our limited interactions I quickly formed the opinion that you were a person after my own heart. Then there was all the digging and personal hardship you went through just trying to undo the actions of a greedy few, and now when you could have utterly destroyed your former friend, you only wanted enough damages to cover costs and a bit more. Bloody love you! For what it's worth, regarding Person B, people grow and change. And unfortunately not everyone changes for the better, some change for the worst. I honestly believe that your old friend was true back in the days where you were each other's best men, but unfortunately that chap is long gone. Mourn your old friend who "died" as he grew to become this new selfish, greedy, horrid oaf, but try not to let it poison those good memories too much. Hell, as a stroke survivor myself, I know how radically the brain can be changed. I'm not saying that the stroke itself changed his personality, but perhaps that was the point he started feeling like he was 'owed' more from life, entitled to more, and that informed his actions. I genuinely don't want to hurt the guy, it's just a shame that it ended like this. I have no qualms in calling out his actions, though normally I wouldn't even do that, but the damage that he's caused is way more than people realise and has an ongoing affect on my family, placing us in financial stress. I spoke about that in the last video and to be frank, that was unforgivable. While I'm not one to gossip about other people's well being or personal afflictions, I do feel that you've made a valid point - and one that we've all already considered. While I don't believe it's the cause, I do feel that it's a contributing factor, that and him getting involved with Person A a few years back, as I can trace the change in him back to then. Anyway... Let's look to the future - Merry Christmas to you and yours!

And I've known a couple of absolute mongrels who eventually woke up to themselves and became far, far better people. Humans are complex. In speculation to your closing question if he had a stroke its common for people to have behavioural and personality changes after a stroke. I had a friend, a dear friend who became violently paranoid about his innocent wife after a stroke. He kept it secret to everyone. It seemed he had recovered well. Vile people have transformed to near saints by strokes too. Its possible that both the friend you had and the incompetent criminal you dealt with both existed on either side of tge stroke.if so my condolences for the loss if a friend. As I say its just speculation based on experience because the inexplicablity seems to be still of concern.

I think you're right there. It may have been a contributing factor to the change in character, but he was well on his way towards this when he first fell under the spell of Person A. It's sad, but there's nothing that we can do about it and we just have to move on. What I find disturbing is that he seems so convinced that he'd done nothing wrong. The first paragraph is interesting, because he went through that exact phase last year so there's yet another level of a total lack of self awareness. The second paragraph isn't even worth addressing. The facts are simple, if what is presented in these videos is untrue- then why did Phil pay over £3000 in preventive damages immediately? It's very telling how in paragraph 2 he comments on hoping that the video makes Anthony all the money he'shoping for- a very obvious passive aggressive manner of trying to imply that Anthony has done all of this for furthering his own ends. It conveniently ignores that he started all of this, and I know what he could have had to pay if Anthony had put the monetary value first, and believe me- it would have ruined him financially. So yet again.. Phil Stevens can't help himself from lying. If any of this video presentation was a fabrication why didn't he challenge any of it? Why wait until now to make a cursory statement? I don't think you even need to read anything into the comments he makes- the truth is all out in the open. He's a proven liar and user of people, so why the hell would anyone trust anything he writes? Oh, and he liked his own post- what a narcissist.

What I fail to understand (as you have failed understand also) is that you were the best of friends and he decided to defraud you and deprive you of your livelihood. People tend let in and attract same kind personality as themselves to be their friends otherwise the types of "friends" are really just acquaintances and if you were just acquaintances I can understand the betrayal. You're not in your twenties, you seem like a full rational adult yet you chose a right bell end as friend, you have to do better (yes I'm blaming you for some of this "drama"), I'm sure you will, it took a hard lesson, I hope I'm never in situation as you found yourself in. You can know people for decades and not know who they really are. I had a friend I knew since elementary school. During my school years I was constantly accused of things I never did. Any girl I had an interest in would suddenly stop talking to me. I was constantly called to the counselors office because they felt I was wanting to end my own life. This went on until I was out of school. Never understood why those things ever happened. I never did anything to warrant any of it. Find out years later this "best friend" was constantly going to teachers telling them I did this and that. Stuff I never did. Would tell them I was talking about wanting to die. I didn't. Those girls that would suddenly stay away from me? He would go tell them I was abusive and mean and should stay away from me. I never knew any of that until I was in my late twenties. I'm 45 now and still run into people that tell me about things this "friend" had done that I never knew about. All because a girl he liked wanted nothing to do with him and asked me out and I said yes. He then spent years making me out to be something I wasn't and still does to this day even after I confronted him years later. Your comment comes off as odd because you pretty much went right to attacking this guy in some way and it comes off like it's a personal issue with you. Like you're possibly connected to people he called out and don't like that a stop was put to it.
