👍 That is a huge improvement. The area looks like a park again... as it was meant to be.

Very much so Kitty.

you are braving the cold 🥶 to show us these improvements being done, and some of those unhoused are getting some attention to their crises. Thanks, Sally.

Sally this is great. Fortunately there is housing unlike here.

Quite a big difference there with the tents now gone. Hopefully those who were there found proper housing. Thanks for the updated video Sally.

Hi, a tale of good and bad.Good to see the parks returned back to the safe recreational spaces they were designed for. Bad that the local economic situation forces many to live under plastic and canvas.Good that many of the homeless have been helped, bsd that social services are underfunded.But with people living in tented encampments below swish Tower condo new builds that become ghost towns in the sky due to unaffordable purchase prices and rents.Nicely covered

Well said, ghost towns in the sky...hauntingly true.

Doesn't mean the homeless are gone.
@onceuponacity21 күн бұрын
They are gone from this park, housed or relocated. Hopefully most have come in from the cold @tudorjason

I know the system and I do not believe these people went to shelters. Perhaps a few people!! I would like to contact some of these people and see where they really are. Can anyone tell me where the city has built new shelters and transitional house??
@onceuponacity20 күн бұрын
I was shocked too Jacqueline. From what I researched 11 people were placed in permanent housing (which already exists). 40 other unhoused people went to shelters or hotels. Perhaps others moved to another part of the city (displaced) to parks, street or subway. No audit so just can't be sure, like you said.

Those people are still outside and homeless. They don't have any beds left in the shelter. They won't build new homes and you can't sleep in a tent. What do they want from people?

Money, money to build affordable housing. Out of sight, out of mind I would say too for those who are NIMBY.
