To clear the count display you should hit the ENTER button not the dispense. It does the same thing but is actually the correct way to clear the count display.

Perfect, thank you. I agree the round count looks annoying but otherwise it looks really good. I am having a hard time deciding which dispenser to get.

Goflyrc2 haha Same here! I had planned to send the Hornady back after trying it out for this review, and every time I go to pack it up, I just find myself staring at it and second guessing haha. Honestly, I think I will send it back, and wait for the price to come down a little (which I think it will after the “new” wears off) especially being so close to Black Friday and Christmas sales.

on your auto charge, has the powder drop tube ever unscrewed or backed itself out so it no longer dispenses? my brand new one appears to have just done that. not sure it's something you can put back yourself

I couldn’t tell you. I no longer own this unit. Hope you get it back up and running! I would call Hornady. They are usually pretty good about helping out.

The issue I have found with these scales is with a fine powder such as superformance, the beep when finished, is so loud and creates such vibrations it drops extra kernels from the beep/buzzer. And you can not turn this off. This is VERY annoying as its just back product development/testing.

Hi! Thanks for the videos, just watch a couple of your comparisons and they’re very well done. Question about getting rid of that round count... so after it dispenses, you hit Dispense to show the weight, then IF you put some extra kernels into the pan, does it adjust the shown weight like you would like it to? Also, what does the RCBS Lite do in this scenario? Thx in advance!

Yes, it does show changes after you hit the Dispense button. The RCBS always goes back to the scale weight after it momentarily shows the round count

Out of the RCBS the Frankford Arsenal and the Hornady which one would you recommend?

I've noticed with mine the show medium fast setting dictates accuracy with charge weight.

So what is your long term experience with the Hornady Auto Charge Pro vs. the Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper? Do you still have both devices? Do you have or had a Lyman Gen 6 for comparision? Have you noticed any deviations with large number of throws? I always used a RCBS 10-10 and I would never sell this scale! But for loading a bunch of ammo, the automatic powder dispenser is the next step for me. Thanks in advance ;)

I no longer do have either of those dispensers. I know the Hornady would’ve drove me crazy having to hit the enter button after every charge to know whether or not it threw over though

I wonder if you calibrated the Hornady with the RCBS weights if that would make it more accurate. I wonder if the check weights are slightly different between the two?

It is possible. I would’ve done that if I could, but the Hornady required a lighter weight than does the charge master.

My big problem now is dropping fine ball powders. They slightly bounce out of the pan even on low speed. I need a deeper pan but can't find one.

Put something under the pan to raise it up

I think that 0.1 grain is because your calibratiin weights are a little off. Try weighing the Hornady calibration weights on your beam scale and it might show +0.1 grain on the beam scale🤷‍♂️

Or the beam scale check weights on the Hornady scale. All weights are relative and have some margin of error.

Would you do a load for a 9mm. Such as 3.8 or.4.2 grains. This is the area I am currently having problems with. Thank you. Also I am a little different. I have the Auto Charge for 5 years and have used it for many many loads and have not have an ounce of trouble with it,,,,,,,,except,,,,, about two months ago problems started to happen. It seems like it is giving you the SP instead of MV on the read out when the beep sounds. Cancel out the SP and the MV will change to the actual value of the load. Checking with my RCBS beam scale. So now what do I do? Replace what I have, buy the Pro or go to the RCBS SP = setpoint, MV = measured value.

Is there a setting on the dispenser that allows you to turn the beeping off or turn it down? I can't find anything on hornady's website that says if that is possible.

Oh gosh. I hate to make that decision for you haha. I just make the videos. You make the final decision based on what you see in the video. I think they are both good machines in their own right. The regular old Chargemaster 1500 is also a good option.

@@stricklyreloading8494 thankyou for the videos that you do. i crunched the numbers from all the videos you did with each powder system. the standard deviation of the rcbs was 1.82 kernals and the hornady .96 kernals. so while the rcbs was closer to the target weight while the hornady was more consistent.
