The newer version of the Instant when using the "Bold" feature apparently raises the temp at least 10 degrees hotter, using the k-cup pod taking 10+ secs longer. I watched a video from Just Dad comparing the old version with the new. Hope this helps you. The newer one has better features.

I have had a Keurig Mini for years and love it. My hack for a hot cup of coffee is just that: a hot cup. Before making a cup, I use the Keurig (no pod) to fill my cup with hot water. Then I pour out the water just before the coffee begins to drip. It’s kind of like heating a teapot before brewing tea.

Also, a double walled borosilicate glass mug will retain heat better (metal too, I just don't like the feel as much), VS a regular mug which leaches more heat.

Just stumbled upon your review, I’m currently thinking about buying this machine. I currently own a keurig only and have really been wanting an affordable way to enjoy espresso at home. Your review has sold me, I was a little worried about the temp so I just made a coffee with my keurig and the temp was 159, so pretty much the same!

I’ve had mine for almost a year no I’m still love with it. I gave my Keurig to my daughter because it never gave me a full cup of water. I only use distilled water in my instant , nothing else since having it I only descaled once. You really have to wait until it stops dripping.

I’ve had mine about a week and have had 2 Keurig brand machines previously. I found the newer Keurig (multi stream) need refillable pods with five holes on top and wasn’t about to buy a bunch of those to replace my regular refillable pods, so went looking elsewhere. I was nervous about reports of the Instant Pod dripping after brewing, but I found mine drips much less than my Keurigs did. I didn’t get a chance to measure the coffee/espresso temperatures, but it seems to be similar to the Keurig machines. I love the large reservoir and the ability to use K cups, Nespresso original pods AND the original (one hole on top) refillable K cups! Also…makes really delicious coffees and espressos 🥳. Thanks for your review 👏

I used to put a folded paper towel under the drip but I find if I remove the pod/or lift the lid for espresso so the pod drops NO DRIP! Absolutely love the versatility of it. Try Peets Major Dickason"s pods 8 oz is good I even do 10 oz sometimes. Thanks to you I found this machine and I bought their frother that is reasonable and excellent too.

I am on my second Keurig. My first one, the mini, lasted years. I wanted a bigger one as my oldest wanted coffee too. So for Christmas a few years ago I got the Keurig with the tank in the back that holds over 4 cups of water. I believe it is 3 years old now and still doing great. Daily uses, with 1-2 brews a day.

We're one number 4 since they've come out. I have no desire to go back to Mr. Coffee type of coffee makers or perked coffee. Mine are laying longer now that my husband n I are past our 60's. We haven't the taste for coffee like we did before. We use to live off of it. Now maybe two cups a day.

I was one of those people who requested a review. I did just buy the instantpod after watching a few other reviews and have really like it. We replaced a large espresso/coffee pot combo machine, but just did a major downsizing so don't have much space. I bought the refillable cups, as well as refillable nespresso pods. Hubby is the big espresso drinker and said he needs to work on getting the espresso to his liking. Overall I really like it!

Instead of pressing the button try more of a light sliding touch. Nice video! As far a temperature- that's a personal preference. For me a a slightly cooler cup allows me to drink it a bit more quickly, but I completely understand why people would prefer it to be hotter, especially if you plan on sipping slowly.

Thanks for the review. We saw this machine in Walmart the other day and I can see that my partner really wanted it. We've had several Keurig machines. The newest one he bought over the Christmas stopped working and he can't figure out how to descale it, so it is currently sitting out on the table on the back deck waiting for him to do something. I told him send it back and get his money back. It's the K Supreme Plus machine. We're currently using an older machine, but this morning it went on the fritz so now he wants to buy this one from Instant Pot. I read the reviews and told him to look at them. It had a lot of bad reviews. He has a Nespresso machine which works, but the pods are expensive.

I love my instant pod. I use it every day to make my iced espresso. I have tried many different nespresso type pods varying from the nespresso brand, starbucks capsules, Peets, and other off brand. I am loving the Peets ones currently. I do have that problem with some dripping but its actually not too bad at all. It's not excessive. I have only made K cups about 2 times and i just prefer the espresso side. I was also thinking of buying reusable nespresso pod capsules

I had a Keurig for years until it wore out and I then purchased a newer model and that one lasted not even a year. I used the My K-Cup, but it wouldn't fit in my newest Keurig. Frustrated I purchased a 39.00 single brew coffee maker from Mauds Coffee and am very happy with it. I am able to use and type of pods and the single pods that can be reused. I just love this coffee maker and the coffee is 180 degrees when it comes out, oh I do use a stainless steel mug that keeps the coffee hot for hours.

I agree. The temp is too low. I bought a gadget to help me separate the pods into pieces to recycle, but it was such a pain. I now buy San Francisco Bay Coffee Company pods that are compostable (no outer plastic cup). I sent them an email asking about the different coffees they had and which would be most comparable to the medium roast brand I had been using. They were lovely and sent me an assortment to try for free.

I’ve had two Nespresso machines and have loved them both. We make a lot of coffee daily in our home and our Nespresso machine is a workhorse. I love the coffee it makes (I measured my cup at 168 degrees this morning). There’s a good variety of coffee flavors, types, cup sizes and strengths. They’re always introducing new flavors. My coffeemaker came with a great frother too. I also like that we can recycle the pods. On the downside, the coffee is kind of pricy and it’s only available online it at Nespresso boutiques.

I've owned two Tassimo's (had to get one replaced on warranty months after purchase), a Keurig 2.0, and now the Instant Pod. Honestly, out of the three the Instant Pod is far superior. I'm not experiencing the issues with the buttons or the temperature (I find this to be several degree's hotter than the Keurig 2.0 and way hotter than the Tassimo - of which I could I could dip my finger in the cup and hold it inside without flinching, which is why I sent it back for warranty replacement but it had the same issue right out of the box, and why I later upgraded to a Keurig 2.0). I'm wondering if your unit may be defective or something. I also do not work from home all the time, so the only time I consistently enjoy my Instant Pod is on the weekends. But my office has one of the newer Keurig's (Keurig K-Supreme) with the option to select temperature, and I find my Instant Pod to be about the same temp as the Keurig's hottest temperature. Here is a link to the Keurig K-Supreme if you haven't already looked at it. You loose the ability to use the Nespreso pods however. For me, I love the Nespresso pods. With the Instant Pod, I make a 10oz K-Cup, then add 4oz of Nespresso (nice double shot) of 10 intensity espresso, makes a great pick me up during the day. www.keurig.ca/Brewers/Keurig%C2%AE-K-Supreme%E2%84%A2-Single-Serve-Coffee-Maker/p/keurig-k-supreme-brewer:White_color?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4eTO2o6z-QIV4g59Ch3CSgPWEAYYAiABEgLc7_D_BwE

I just wanted to add that I also use only filtered water (I use a Zero Water filtration pitcher) so that it has less impurities than our tap water. Makes a massive difference in taste (at least from my stand point). Distilled water may also work, but not sure if there would be any cost savings to going out and buying bottles of Distilled water vs using tap water and a really good filter pitcher or reverse osmosis filter system to the tap. The impurities in your water can hinder the pump and heating elements in your coffee maker, and also affect the temperature and taste. Just a thought 🙂

I got the instant pod maker on a Sam’s Club deal. It was only 69.00. I made 1 espresso pod (Peet’s) and had a lot of dripping afterwards. I returned the unit to Sam’s because it was not strong enough to compare to my breville espresso machine. I was trying to replace and older keurig machine with the instant one because I thought I could make decaf espresso in it. Liked the idea of the machine but just couldn’t compare with the strength I like for my iced latte. Thankfully Sam’s has wonderful return policy. Wasn’t an issue at all. I love my air fryer and instant pots though.

The finicky buttons are like the touchscreen monitors at Walmart. I hate to touch them at all, due to my germ-phobia, and I have yet to discover the "right touch" particular to them. Too hard, too light, too long, using a finger poke or drag? The PC systems these self-serve registers are run by, have limited cancellation options by customers, requiring a Walmart employee to fix most mistakes. So, I feel your pain.
