Update on Dawn: the most broken bear we've met in years

How gentle is Dawn...after all the trauma, she still shows an amazing capacity for gentle behaviour.

It breaks my heart to think of what Dawn had to do to survive--trying to comfort herself any way she could. Pigs do the same when put in crates--they chew on anything as it reminds them of eating. Thank you so much for saving Dawn.

My goodness,seeing her too scared to even lift her head was absolutely heart breaking but now, not only is she taking food by hand,she's making eye contact with her caregivers.It's an amazing achievement & we're so looking forward to seeing this sweet girl's progress,we love you Dawn ❤️

Ah Dawn. Such a sweetie. Beautiful to see her life improve so much. I do the radio thing with my cats. I work from home mostly and it's very quiet so any loud noises or especially if someone came round, a new voice, would send them scuttling upstairs or down the end of the garden. So now I leave the radio on all day. It has voices and music, so there are many different voices and adverts, jangling jingles and music (rock as I listen to Planet Rock) and I've found they are much less jumpy now. Thanks to all of Animals Asia for your abundance of compassion and ability to put it into action and make such a difference to the lives of so many. ❣

Thanks Elly, yes often what we do for our companion animals we can try with the bears too. They're sentient beings so do respond to stimuli like music and other external sensations that can calm or similarly scare them. We do all we can to make them feel safe and secure, just like we do with our fluffy companions 🥰🐻🐈
