Something I just read said this: "It’s quite interesting to see why the polyembryonic seeds create true-to-type trees: “Poly-embryonic seeds produce a number of shoots, one of which originates from fertilisation. The fertilised seedling is often weak and stunted and should be discarded. The other seedlings are clones of the mother tree.”"

some say fertilized one is the strong one. so confusing.

Mono-embryonicl seeds will sprout new growth if the first shoot dies and there is enough reserve in the seed. I've experienced new growth sunburned during super hot days (mostly Kent seedlings in my case). I've also had mature mango plants that have died back to a stump, and if there is enough stored energy in the roots, it will push up new growth.

Ive had that with one of my advocado trees which is doing great now with like 5 shoots, the second one i had is only a month or so old and has 2 more shoots coming out now all doing well

I have had the same thing happen with coconut cream -- the first embryo that sprouted just stopped at 2 inches with a black tip and then other sprouts grew.
