Was thinking about you the other day when I pulled into a rest area on I 90 for a 10 hour sleep along side of me was a burgundy dually Denali chevrolet pulling a 5th wheel rv that had a sign saying Indiana Transport. Earlier that day I went by Grand Design in Indiana. On your cp4 on top is a black plastic 90 degree piece that if you pull it off you can see if metal shavings are on the bottomside ,the cp3 or ss cp4 replacement is the way to go. You got a big job in front of you. Your dog tags reminded me of my dog Yogi how was my trucking buddy who passed away this last march and I really miss him every day. I got him a dog tag from a machine at Walmart in goergia shaped like a bone with his name and my phone number on it . I take great pride in knowing that he pooped in every state except new England because we didn't go there. Damn I miss that dog. Speaking of new England just finished a trip from New Hampshire to Washington state, 3100 miles and doing a 34 hour reset in Tacoma now. Good luck in all that you do , marines always get the job done in a first class way .

Check the Line feeding the injection pump, the higher mileage D-Max cracks or breaks this Line all the time, do to vibration. I thought you said you saw a little bit of fuel leaking out the front, when it first happened, just a thought. God Bless!

It’s the cp4. Pull the regulator on the back of it to see if there’s shavings to verify. Common problem on lml”s

@joshleiss ok. I was told if it's pressurizing fuel through the injectors then the high pressure side is good and shouldn't be any shavings. And that the low pressure side probably went bad keeping it from pulling fuel from the tank. I plan on pulling the fuel pressure sensor to verify metal shavings or not. Thanks for the comment.

Sorry about your truck luck, So what happens with your Leas with IT. Do you have to de-lease or do they put you on some kind of hold if you dont do a load within 30 days.

@mikewaters299 I should be OK for a little longer than the 30 days. They hurting for drivers. But if I delease or get deleased under these circumstances. As long as I'm not gone no more than 6 months then all I have to do is do a drug test and I'm good. Anything longer than 6 months I have to go through orientation again.

Maybe you need to have the timing checked. The timing gear is just a pin instead of keyed. Doesn't matter how much fuel it's getting if it's not in time.

Just because there’s pressure at the injectors don’t mean nothing. They fail and don’t give the full 5k psi to start

I’m not a duramax guy but I thought your year of truck did not come from factory with a lift pump. I think they do now but I’m pretty sure they didn’t have lift pumps until 7 or 8 years ago. Unless someone put an aftermarket one in.

@cj3518 you're correct. They didn't come with lift pump until 16 or 17. I believe my cp4 pump on top of the motor went bad.
