That's how they make their money, they starve a horse and play on people's heartstrings to "pay" high prices. They know rescue groups will ask people to help collect funds and the seller makes his living. This seller will take this $6000 and buy more horses at a low price, under feed them (so NO money out of their pockets)and once again play on heartstrings to make large profits on rescue group's money. It's an easy dollar for these horrible crooks and you sadly are continually lining their pockets.

Since you know where he is, try to contact equine rescue organizations in that area to help you. There may be organizations that go to that auction. Perhaps you and they could work together. Tell them the story, and hopefully get Oliver out of the slaughter pipeline!

Check with Horse Plus Humans Society out of Tennessee, maybe they can help. They go to auctions in their state and buy horses. They do grants to. They have videos posted here on KZbin. Horse plus is a scam. Most of us that live in Tennessee know this. They buy some of the worse horses at auction and post videos to get huge donations and then they kill those horses

And what makes you think anyone can build up a charity as big as Horse Plus without knowing how to manage a business? They have legitimate incomes of their own so you can quit the slander.

The vets who have been with them have made the decision to euthanize and for none of them it has been an easy decision. But it is easier to criticize other people`s decisions than making them yourself,isn?.Since you know this,I assume ou have evidence and therefore report them. Until you have done that, I choose to believe that they are doing the best they can to save the horses from the slaughterhouses in Mexico. A thought,if ou know the horses can be saved by time and care,then you can offer to save the horses to disprove that they were wrong and you right..oh if you are wrong...then maybe they and you have learned something from each others decisions and that you work towards common goals to save horses but have different opinions and ways of doing it.

I also named my horse Oliver, because he just IS an Oliver him being mouse colored, tiny and has this naughty but sweet attitude over him. And that name just popped up and never left. :) I think we had the same feeling about it that Oliver is a name that chooses the horses by itself and not the other way around. Hahaha. But mine was just a tiny healthy foal, not a malnourished Clydesdale. Hope your Oliver is going to thrive. It looks healthy except for being a bit underweight and I hope the vet will confirm this so he can continu his journey back to full health and a wonderful horse.

Poor Oliver! I'm crossing all my fingers and toes that the owners will let you buy him. His hooves look terrible, and look at the way his feet are positioned - I wouldn't be surprised if he's in pain. He'll probably need special shoeing. He definitely needs oats, lots of!!!
