Couple of things from this video: my Yaris leaked around the rear lights and it got into the boot floor (a known problem, apparently). Some foam tape helped but not before it had rotted out the bulb holders in one light, causing years of MoT advisories. It works now though after I went at them with a Dremel and raided a scrap car for the holders. I also used to get mayo on the oil filler cap on my Renault 16 but only in winter - I assume it was condensation in the rocker cover. Yay, Dumpit!

Moisture can be a bugger Kitch - epic rainfall yesterday and overnight and my Duster rear wiper stopped working - I went into fix mode this afternoon and opened the hatch - rainwater dribbled out. I left it in the sun for an hour shut the boot and it was job jobbed it worked. The irony is that a wiper refused to start because rain stopped play. I have just bought a mint 1999 Daihatsu Sirion 1.0L triple. Despite being 25 years old it has only 44k on the clock and looks and drives like it just came out of the showroom. Before I left the UK one of the last cars I owned was a Charade 1.0L, identical to HubNut's. One of the differences between the Sirion and the later Charade was the Charade has electric power steering, where the Sirion is hydraulic. In your opinion is it possible to swap out the hydraulic system and replace it with the Charade's EPS? Would it screw up the fuelling because the engine management is expecting the load from the hydraulic steering pump?
