There are more tax refund delays.

Unfortunately, the majority of flagged refunds are not actual fraud.
And this is causing more delays to taxpayers expecting a refund.
The good news is the IRS has to pay you interest for the extended time you've been waiting on your refund.

an excuse i heard through a friend cuz it was what she heard was that there was a delay in sending out refunds and stimulus checks cuz there were so many requests and stimulus checks to send out they had to freeze the process so its going super slowly now cuz apparently they have requests all the way from last year to process and send out still but i did me and my boyfriends at the same time in march like same day i did mine while he was at work and then helped him do his once he came home from work cuz my friend helped me figure out how to do mine and i received my stuff back in April and i did direct deposit and my boyfriend doesnt have a bank account but there was an option to receive a card from them where they wld send his money too since he didnt wanna receive a check he wanted to have a card and figured hed probably get it faster that way and he still hasnt received anything but he did receive one of the fraud letters mentioned in the video asking him verify his identity tbh we thought it was a scam but now that i watched that and know its not it cant hurt to try doing it and see if it works once he gets home tonight and hopefully he receives it soon

Filed my tax in February and it kept saying processing for like 3months, called them throughout the 3months which was extremely difficult to get a hold of. When I finally did speak to someone, they were like there is no issue just a matter of waiting and so I got tired of waiting and called again and they said 10 weeks max and if you done received it call back which I did and than they told me I should be receiving a letting for id verification due to fraud and by this time it was June smh, when I got the letter a week later I couldn’t verify online so I then had to call them which was another two weeks to get a hold of them and they verified my information on the phone and now I have to wait nine weeks which is pretty much the next two months. So pretty much I won’t be getting my money back til the end of August and I filed back in February so annoying and inconvenient.

The problem with IRS now is that if you file by mail, They simply do not show in their system that they have received the paperwork, so you cannot claim that interest. I have been waiting for 3 months and I am now being told that I would need to refile because The paperwork must have been lost.

I filed the beginning of February. Got a letter in May asking for proof of residence for my kids in order to claim child tax credit. Absolutely nothing had changed from the year before (income, residence, dependents, etc). Finally got another letter a month later saying they received the info I sent and to give them til October to finish reviewing my taxes before they can approve/issue refund. It's ridiculous!

I filed first week of March . I also have one child credit literally just checked .I finally got a day for my refund. And I also paid unemployment taxes .Before the bill was passed . I even heard single filers having problems. State was no problem. But federal was a wait. It was accepted the day I filed. I literally been waiting for my refund since March literally. Check the IRS where's my refund. I've been getting it's getting processed for months.

I have been doing exactly what you said but at the end was not able to get any answer. Everytime I enter my information by phone or using the web site Here is my Refund or the cell application giving my ss# date of filing, classification and amount of refund, they just said NO RECORD MATCH THIS INFORMATION. My CPA emailed my Income tax forms on March 26, 2021. I have the form sent to him by IRS as proof that IRS receive it. When I contacted IRS there is not way you can talk to a person therefore the recording answer is always the same. It advise you to Check our website or Contact IRS by phone. This is a catch 22 situation. I opted to require a 2020 TRANSCRIPT but again the system is telling me to verify my identity but after spending a lot of time going back and forth to my e-mail to enter the codes to create a new password, the last step said that they need to send another code to my cell home. It never arrived therefore I was again left with no way to ask for the transcript. They warns that sometimes the IRS cannot access all mobile phones. I do not remember if I have my old line land as my only phone but right now I have a mobile iphone and THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE SYSTEM LET YOU TO CHANGE YOUR PHONE NUMBER. What can I do?

Filed March 1st, got audit letter on June 25 and returned verification same day. They have 30 days to process 🤞🏾 Nothing more is needed🤦🏾‍♀️

This is the thing about online you have to have a credit card not a debit a credit card or makes it hard for people ain't got bank accounts there's a lot of people ain't got no bank accounts so you forget trying to get online you can't call them you call him you can't get a hold of nobody then the next option is to make an appointment to see him personal person good luck with that it's continuously complicated with the IRS I just think it was all the way around what will they do we.
