Never regret doing your KZbin channel. You played a part in giving my family the inspiration to take risks. In the past four years we have started four companies, sold one and my wife and oldest son have advanced their careers to levels that seemed impossible before that. “Make the impossible likely”

The "made from local ingredients" idea is a good one. I watched a podcast about a guy who built a machine to gather all the plastic garbage from the ocean. He found a way to turn the plastic garbage into sunglass frames, and discovered that rich people will pay a lot of money for sunglasses because they are made from ocean garbage.

Hey Casey, if manufacture infrastructure and volcanic rock like Basalt is what you’re looking for; Utah is certainly an option. -International Hub Airport -I15 and I80 -railroads -racetracks for testing -Bonneville Salt Flats -“thinner” air to test turbo and engine efficiency -huge steel and aluminum foundries -giant fabrication capabilities And on and on -masterful engine builders with that old school knowledge A bunch of benefits -sadly no water based transport But there is absolute TRUCKLOADS of money in Utah. There are even a couple billionaires. Just an idea cause I’d love to see the Omega Car!

Casey you nailed it As a home mechanic... gunsmith and more... trying to open a physical location to actually expand and grow has been a MAJOR hurdle as anythign 2A or "risky" like custom anything or what seems like anything really... Banks say NO and 2A it was never an option cash only... So turned to private investors and it was apparent first meeting... if you cannot beat the stockmarket with a total steal gold product that can be mass produced instantly NOBODY will invest into your business... this is after 5 years of having door after door slammed on my feet or nose as there is an underlying monster that then says you must pay regaurdless of incomes! which is BS and you then clkosing doors before you even started... TOOLS cost money and are easily recoopable if you take care of them infact sometimes grow in value! but try to tell a bank or loan shark that you and the tools are the money maker... 80-90's where the end of the "home builder grows into big business when koenigsegg and tesla" magically came outta nowhere out of some think tank basement.

@@CaseyPutsch Kinda Off Subject......I was very curious to see more about the Omega car & for the longest time wondered. Why hasn't a scooter 🛵 or motorcycle company. Built a fully enclosed, recumbent seated, aerodynamic 3 wheel scooter. With lightweight removable top enclosure. That could be removed on nice days. Like take the Piaggo mp3 or Yamaha tricity with the articulating 2 front wheels. Make it recumbent seated, with aerodynamic lightweight enclosure. So it be used year round for commuting. Along with 2 removable aerodynamic storage compartments that fit on the sides. For groceries,etc...A tandem seated recumbent could also carry 2 people. The front end articulates to lean into corners. So it'd be fun to drive & corner well without the front wheels needed to be very wide apart.....Think of those old airplane belly tank race cars. Except a Piaggo mp3 2 wheel front end & 1 or 2 wheels in the rear. Maybe 2 wheels placed closed together in the rear with rear wheel steering. So it could be stable with 4 wheels but narrow & carve corners without risk of sliding & wiping out.

The Ω car could be built in our garages, by us. When I was a kid in 6th grade, late 1970's, oil "crisis" was fresh in our minds, I gave a presentation to the class, just like all the other kids did that day, on the future of energy... My premise was that energy in the future would be sourced and used in many more ways that it was then, and now. I called it "diffused energy" after how the sun and the moon practically bathe the earth in energy but it is so difficult to collect because it's - diffused. Humanity needed to get better at collecting energy from all the different sources and using it in efficient was to prevent power losses caused by conversions. I remember getting something like a D for my project. Not because of my spelling, grammar, or presentation, but because my teacher called my idea "unrealistic". My parents were furious, partly because they believed in my idea, partly because they helped. My Dad was a state licensed mechanical engineer, chief engineer where he worked, and my Mom had masters degrees in psychology and sociology. So... yeah. I've wanted to put a small diesel in a small, light, slippery car for decades. Especially since I learned of the origin story of the diesel engine and that it was meant to run on a waste product, peanut oil. To me that meant that it could easily run on two different fuels, more diffuse... There was a company called Frybrid making fuel system conversions for diesel cars and trucks so that they could run on pump diesel and Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) in the same vehicle. I was in love. SVO is not "bio-diesel" with all the processing and hazardous chemicals. It is just deep fat fryer oil, filtered before it's put in the tank and heated by the waste heat, radiator, of the vehicle before it is injected into the combustion chamber. Unfortunately, Frybrid is no longer with us but there is a book that describes how to do what they did. The title is "SVO" by Forest Gregg. How the book came to be is a bit convoluted but hey, c'est la vie. I've also followed along here and the with the solar powered race across Australia and HPV racing along with a bunch of other stuff like that. The book "More With Less" by Ciotti is also a good read. To say that I'm here for this project just doesn't cover it. I just wish I had the $$ to back up how I feel and what I say. Keep up the good work.

I am a boomer, always been hand to mouth, fighting my mind as it always wants to improve the equipment under my watch. As teenager, noticed the person doing tune-up on parents vehicles, wasn't doing good job. I started at factory settings, then slowly adjusted timing and cleaning carbs, my goal was to make better and mpg's improved along with response. I tried to do it thru my life. DD wanted to test diesel, water emulsifier on one of the engines I took care of, but Roger Penske bought them and test went away. Remember in 80-90's Hotrod mag tried to buy cars being sold to powerplants, all they needed was TLC for clean emissions and mpg. What I miss most is business owned by family, investment corporation s don't care, they lack dreams only money. You are not alone in your dreams, thanks for sharing your thoughts. The discussion creates more thoughts and dreams!

Read a number of articles where the trapped air is analyzed in amber and CO2 and O2 where nearly triple what we have today indicating that atmospheric pressure was triple as well. Not to downplay your accomplishments but we had a 50mpg car in the 20th century called the Geo and we didn't continue down that road. I really don't understand how the US could switch to only making gas guzzling SUVs/trucks while simultaneously mandating EVs. It's just ridiculous.

Geo metro was mid 40’s but close. Also economy was much better then. You could get gas for well under a dollar. Fast food was just that. Shitty cheap food. 10 bucks fed several people. Or even a dozen at some places. With things like $0.35 cheeseburgers. Keep in mind minimum wage was about the same. Today where things are tight and want reliability of an I.C.E. The problem is now that it needs to go into a car that people can afford even with a low budget. Targeting the same crowd as the geo metro did. Poor people make up a bunch of this group. I saw more geo metros in the ghetto than anything else. As the economy gets tighter the demand for a cheap 50 mpg car becomes appealing to more people. Exspecially if you can make it in the 15k-20k range new! I think thats high tbh. But thats todays reality. You can find a few toyota’s just at the 20k range with less than 20k miles as an example. If he could hit that 15k range. He would crush the market. But i doubt thats who this car would target.

Opportunity zone is interesting concept however in practice most of the investment is in restaurants and retail business which change hands and close the doors often. It would be interesting if there was a industry opportunity zone approach that was less corporatized, and more small business and inventive of course the biggest hurdle are the politicians who support it and either want a cut of the action or a accomplish point to keep them in office.

There is no way in its current form will pass (US) safety regulations. By the time all the airbags/ safety systems and crumple zone this will practically double in weight like all compact cars from the 80's compared to today's counterparts. I also have grave concerns about it being EPA certified particularly if this is the 1.9T TDI engine I believe it is. Add the required DEF system and it's going to kill performance and weight even more. Don't get my pessimism wrong because building a car from the ground up is amaazing but realistically if this leaves the prototype stage it will not be in its current state.

Idk, I think if a tribe was willing to have a vehicle manufacturing plant built on their reservation, that would be pretty cool. Unfortunately, the reservations usually attract businesses that are trying to escape some sort of regulation, i.e. gambling, which doesn't really bring a good reputation with it. But an actual industry, producing an actually good product, that justifiably prioritizes hiring Native Americans instead of effectively as a pity hire... that's really not an evil thing - they deserve the opportunity to grow too and not be regarded like a museum exhibit.

Casey, Please don't even consider Hawaii. I have lived all over the country and have lived the last decade + in Hawaii. Hawaii is beautiful but it is the worst place to manufacture anything, 1) Hawaii is the most leftist and most repressive state in the country. It makes California look rightwing. There is only one party. 2) Hawaii is owned and run by ultra-rich Hawaiian natives allied with the former royal family. They absolutely DO want everybody else to work on their plantations and stay poor and they say so. They want no one who is not Hawaiian nobility to own anything. 3) They hate manufacturing and white people (although 90% of them are part white) and will oppose both for the silliest reasons. You cannot dig the basalt because that is the goddess Pele's body - a goddess the Hawaiian nobility rejected in 1819 BEFORE the missionaries arrived. SMH 4) Most Hawaiians need real jobs but do not want them. The government pays them to stay poor and education is non-existent and Native Hawaiian propaganda. You will have to import workers.

Me I think home manufacturing is the future of saving the environment but you need home repair and recycling. If you look at 3d printing we need to be able to recycle the printed materials back into raw filament. And the thing about ev car and your omega car the ev car needs electricity to charge and most people charge their cars when they get home from work or school and that is after peak production of solar power or wind so they use non renewable energy now back to your car bio fuel is better for the environment than a battery in the landfill and people needs to stop lying most batteries used cellular phones tablets and laptops goes to the landfill.

They're making their own cars, bikes, and airplanes. They're making their own clothing, food, electronics, wood screws, toasters, and everything else. My friend drives a Russian made motorcycle. His wife just started a company making camping gear. People there do stuff and make stuff and invest in stuff. They care about inventing and making their country better. Why? Because they've all seen what happens when you let socialist, fascist, blue haired ideology be in charge; and they have the body count to prove it. They don't want to ever see that again, so they care. Why do Americans think Russia is evil? Because your phones tell you to, nothing more.

@wstlndiesel So why are you here 😂, he has things to say and you have nothing not even family. 😢. I am not sad even for you, you see people can't be sad for self harming people.

@@michaelbrinks8089People thinking that way about him are just some mental kids for whom Casey is a thorn in the a$$ by telling something they personally don't like. Kinda funny. Looks like they're the narcissist ones after all. It goes against their _freedom of speech_

Your Omega car is actually a good solution. But it isn’t disposable, it doesn’t need to be shipped around the world to be built, it is recyclable and it isn’t what a certain Billionaire wants to see. That Billionaire is the reason that EVs are the way we are going. This current form of EV is an evolutionary dead end, but it will be flogged to death because Musky boy, AKA Space Karen, wants it.

Honestly i am mildly disappointed, you fell off hard, bud. Hope you get your head together and get some luck in bringing an efficient & recyclable car forwards. I know well that you seem to have a good heart & good head but seem to have trouble with the larger picture of why in a lot of politics. Im dipping because i dont like to support maga creators, best of luck on omega car though.
