23:55 the oler behaviour can be restored if the interface is configured. basically: an unconfigured interface exposes the whole network (to pattern providers and storage buses) a configured interface exposes it's own inventory (to everything)

Greetings, not sure if others have already told you, but there's a way to use the similar design you had before and with just a few small modifications, it will work as expected. There's no need to add a chest to the design. The only thing I had added was a pattern provider and placed the pressed chip templates in the storage bus. That was pretty much it.

I have been given another solution without chest though: configure the receiving interface with all base materials and the subnet can hold all items and run inscribers in full speed in parallel.

i just can't figure out. in case when pattern provider is connected to mechanism directly, it puts ingredients into the block and then takes end product out of it. BUT when patten provider is connected to production block through interface and then storage bus, it only puts items into mechanism, but doesn't take end product. it requires taking it via export bus. why can't it just take out the product by itself?

Hi, there are some crafting blocks that supports automatic ejection of products which works perfectly with the Pattern Provider, I don't know exactly what mechanism you were thinking about but I think your summary is the reason for this: if connected directly - sometimes you don't need any extraction method, but as this build is using a separate network to handle all parts, the Pattern Provider cannot get the items automatically, so we have to export them back to the main network once completed all steps.

I'm not sure what you're after, there are five Inscribers, aroudn six Storage Bus and like two each of Import/Export bus and a handful of cables and capacity cards? It's quite cheap. If you want more detail, just watch the build part of the video ;)

@@chasehamlin4909 I have made this build in 1.19.2 so it should work. Check so all devices are online, if you missed a quartz fiber some will be offline. Check filter settings in bottom storage buses. Also, double check the export bus to the top, so it's correctly filtered. Also, I recommend in 1.19 to use chest for input as I've seen some weird behavior in these early versions.

And when I try to craft one it says that I don’t have the materials… but the damn machines have to make them first. First of all, always provide game information. Such as modpack, versions etc. However, if it says you don't have materials you might have made your patterns wrong - a common mistake! Check that part carefully, only use base items in the recipe (not the middle parts). Check the other comments as well.

Sounds like your pattern is wrong. Only the base ingredients shall be in the pattern so check that part again, I think 22:15 or so.

That modpack is based on Minecraft 1.12 from what I understand, and back then the Pattern Provider didn't exist. Use the ME Interface instead in your pack. Check the first version of this build if needed (found in the playlist).

I have made videos on this, find them in the AE2 playlist in the video description. Keep items stocked or something like that. It depends on how many you want in stock but you use a crafting card upgrade in either way.

I can't tell you what's wrong as I know nothing about your build or even game/mod version. A common mistake is filtering settings in storage bus and export bus filter items. Or that a block is misplaced that causes devices to be offline.

It sounds like your export bus is incorrectly filtered or the storage bus filter setting is wrong. Or a block is misplaced making some devices offline. Make sure all are online and correctly filtered! It's usually a simple error like that, make sure every block is correctly placed according to video, and also filtered with correct parts (it's a common error).

@@abluepieceofchalk7504 The filter settings in both export bus and storage bus. Make sure the storage one is set to input only and that correct items are in the export and that it's online. It would be easier with a few screenshots so it's totally fine to jump onto discord and send to me there :)

Whenever i call a bigger amount of stuff, when the inscriber fills up, there is some leftover stuff in the chest. The resources from it go back to the me system, how do i fix that?

You didn't tell me what game/mod version you're running but it sounds like an incorrect filter setting in the final export bus (for final processors), there should be no other way back to the main network. edit: or a "short circuit" that connects the subnet to the main network.

The build works fine in ATM7 (I have tested) so it's most probably a minor problem with your build. Check so all devices are online, that quartz fiber is correctly placed and things like that. I don't know your build so it's a bit hard to guess.

I know I am 1 year late, but I built the same setup but the redstone wont input when its time to craft a processor, the certus also won't do so when trying to craft the calculation circuit and the engineering one does the same, the only one that works for me is the logic processor. I wonder if it's because im using normal cables instead of smart ones.

Normal cables makes no difference, the smart ones are only used to easier keep track of channels. You didn't provide any info regarding your game or modpack though. Also, did you build the version with chest or without? I recommend using the chest and then make sure that all filters are correct in storage buses to all inscribers. Usually it's a simple mistake.

The most common reason is that a block is misplaced or not configured correctly. You didn't say what version or modpack you're playing so it's hard to guess what's wrong.

Without knowing anything about the build it's really hard to guess what's wrong because depending on what block is misplaced it can give different (or random) effects. A common mistake is that quartz fiber is not in place so devices go offline because of lack of channels. Much easier to discuss on Discord with screenshots...

Hi TKH First of all, I'd like to thank you for giving such comprehensive tutorial by giving pratical building guide while explaining the theory. However I got a logical issue on the storage buses on inscribers. While I can understand you need to give both input and output when you set storage bus to i/o mode, I can't figure out the reason you only need to specify input items but the output doesn't need one when the bus is on insert only mode. Is it beacuse the insert only mode only filtered the input items but the output are not?

Happy to hear you appreciated the video! :) Yes, you are on the right track with your interpretation. The settings are of course connected, and are configured completely independently depending on your needs. First the Input/Output Mode: Is the Storage Bus allowed to only insert items, only output items, or both? In this build I use the Bi-directional as most are used both ways. Note that the storage bus do not by itself throw items into the network, but it allows other devices (such as the Export Bus) to "suck" items from the block the Storage Bus is placed on. Next step is to decide on filtering, but it only has two configurations. Either we filter for both insert and extract, or as I did here: only filter on insertion - that means that (if set to bi-directional mode) any other object can be pulled out, but only the filtered item is allowed to go in. As this build is made to have full control over every item in the small network, the filter options works perfectly if configured correctly - and there are two ways to do it :)

Hi, I'm encountering a strange problem with my setup. If i order 10 logic processors it works fine. completes all 10 without any issues. If i order 10 engingeering / calculation processors it will only make 1. and not make the other 9 and i cant figure out why it does that. Any ideas?

It sounds a bit weird that it will just stop. Will it export the first engineering/calculation to the main network? Where are all the other items sent? What modpack or game/mod versions are you playing? What build did you go for, with buffer chest or not?

@@therealtkh 1.18.2 all of fabrick modpack Silicon of the ae2 mod. The links are correct. When you put it in the chest above the Provider, production takes place. But even though it is in the system (there is also storage) it does not. It says Missing item silicon. cannot be produced

It's probably just a minor block misplaced or a configuration setting, but I don't know your build so it's really hard to guess. It sounds like the pattern is incorrect, you shall only use base parts and make pattern in processing mode (not crafting mode). This is a common mistake people do - even when they say they did everything correct ;)

I have made a build for 1.19.2 and it works perfectly. I don't know anything about your build but usually it's a small detail that's wrong. Use chest to receive items, check filter settings in storage bus, check export bus settings and make sure you have quartz fiber in correct positions so all devices are online.

How are you placing the regular glass cable down without it connecting to the other side? I cannot seem to ever get that to work.

There are basically three ways: 1. Use Quartz Fiber to only connect power between different nets. 2. Use Cable Anchor to prevent any connection between cable and anything. 3. Different colored cables will not attach to each other. In this video I used method 1 as I demonstrated clearly in the video.

the bottom 3 inscribers wont put the printed into the top inscriber of where the circuits made, i checked all of the filters and everything seems fine. the silicon gets transportted to the top one, but not the circuits. also playing on the latest version

Probably only a minor mistake, perhaps the export bus to the top is incorrectly configured (I know you said everything looks fine but it's easy to make mistakes). Is this still up to date? It tells me I'm missing printed silicon and printed circuits in the crafting plan for each processor. And adding a processing pattern for them then says I'm missing a press, even if the inscribers have the press already in them.

Sounds like you're doing the patterns wrong. Check that part of the video carefully, printed parts are NOT in the pattern - only the base materials.

but how does this system remove the printed pieces from the bottom 3 to put into the top if the storage bus' are set to insertion only filtered? , also im having a problem where the pattern provider wont function without being attached to my main network cable it wont work if i extend the cable a few blocks away from the "backbone"

I interpret the Storage Bus filter as "things to filter for insertion, but not limiting extraction". You could set filter on both in and out and then add the prints in the filter as well. Not sure about your problem though. Other things attached nearby causing issues with channels or power issues?

@@therealtkh i seem to have found my issue to be the me drives are on the wrong side of the system at the recieving end of a p2p tunnel, moved drives to controller side of network and it solved my problem of the pattern provider not providing items, when using transport networks you must make sure your main system stays together then p2p only to the "devices/machines" you make / are using, if the drives and this "device" are on the same end of one p2p tunnel it wont work and everything breaks. hope this helps because this was about 4 hours of trial and error

I have made large p2p networks (see separate video about this topic) and divided storage and auto-crafting in different ends of the network and had no problems. So hard to say, did you build the build with a chest? Are all parts placed in the chest (if you disconnect the rest of the build)? It sounds really weird that the redstone wouldn't follow along. Sure it's not a problem with the pattern? (It's the most common problem.)

@@therealtkh After Testing and Testing Yesterday the problem was, that i had the wrong patterns and it confused the ME system a bit so i did it the same way with the patterns as you did in the Video and it Worked, even with the Old Design it is perfectly working. One of the most common problems related to that is that the recipe is wrong. Only base ingredients shall be used and your pattern is made in processing mode.

Hmm, this build is designed to be alone as it will use resources in only one place (meaning it has no "workload sharing" as I call it). I guess you want to be able to make several processors of the same sort at the same time? I would say this is not the build to use in that case. In the AE2 playlist (in video description) you can find a pair of videos I made last year I think, to see what method I used to add more inscribers for each type and crafting processors even faster.

I don't fully understand what you mean but make sure your pattern terminal is in processing mode instead of crafting mode - otherwise you can't design your own pattern.

In "vanilla AE2" you use Acceleration Cards to speed things up, but only to the maximum speed of the top one, otherwise you would need a completely different build.

It's easy to miss a minor detail, one mistake and things won't work. If an inscriber complete a probably it's the export bus that is wrongly configured or maybe even offline if a quartz fiber is missing. So hard to guess...

You mean Advanced Inscribers from AE2 Stuff? Generally, it's a mod I don't recommend because it has not been updated for a very long time and was left in a state with some bugs that made builds unreliable. Haven't tested this exact build but I made a video on Advanced Inscribers with a similar approach, it worked well in my LP world and almost perfect in creative. Feel free to check it out, it's in the AE2 playlist found in video description.

any idea how long it calculates the path to make colossal star omega in the auto crafting? i made all the pattern from beginning to the finished product (20 pattern in total) and i have like 10 64k crafting storage for the bytes..hopefully enough, and like 18 co processing units and by the time i finished watching this...its still says "Calculating... Please wait."

No idea ;) But a general approach when having multiple crafting CPUs is to have a mix of smaller CPUs and probably only one really big that has lots of memory and Co-processors.

Hi there! Thanks for the video; I have a question though. I can get most of your system to work in ATM7, however the silicon inscriber does not seem to want to work. It's the exact same setup as yours but it does not want to communicate with the request, could this be because of different versions of silicon in the modpack?

I haven't tried ATM7 yet so I can't rule out the possibility of incompatible silicons. What have you used in the recipe? Is it sending anything? Do you have that type of silicon in the storage? Are the devices online in that corner (separated by quartz fiber)?

@@therealtkh I have used the AE2 silicon in each recipe. It can manage to make individual circuits just fine, but not whole processors. The devices are all online but they are not, for some reason, communicating with the system. I.e, I can queue up for example, 1 logic processor, and it will make the circuit, put the redstone in, but not the silicon. Other times I can queue up JUST the silicon circuit without any issue, but it automatically sends it to the inscriber and not the system. Additionally whenever I queue (for example one logic circuit) it will complete the task but not register as complete in the system.

The recipe for certus quartz dust has changed over the years I think, but yesterday I made a quick test build in 1.19.2 and it works like any automated process using Pattern Provider and Inscriber. Kind of the same idea as with processors, but simpler! Can't test for a few days now but the provider can probably be placed on the backside of inscriber and then just extracting the product back to it.

I have an interface bus and an export bus directly connected to the pattern provider and that works fine without chest.

You mean like the old method? In what version? As mentioned in the video it works without chest but the problem was, for some reason, to queue up several without losing speed. I got a tip to configure the Interface to make it work like "before" and it worked perfectly.

I guess you mean that you would like to craft several processors at the same time. I would like to say yes but it's not easy. I haven't tried but I don't think it's impossible, it would just change the build a lot into several subnets handling each press individually, so I think it will be a bit complex but doable.

I am playing Direwolf20 1.18 modpack, and the circuits from the bottom inscribers does not end up in the top. I have set all storage busses to "filter on insertion only" but it still does not work. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix it?

I haven't tested in DW20 pack but remember that even a single connection in wrong place can cause this. Are all devices in the blue network online? Is top export bus properly connected, is top Inscriber rotaded correctly? Is silicon working as it should? Always hard to guess.

@@vzr3apzz114 What modpack are you running? An official or something home-made? It doesn't sound right, the version rv4-stable-1 was released in 2017 for version 1.10.2. The latest release (not counting betas) at the time of writing this is called 12.7.0 (Forge).

current issues: Crafting cpu not updating when finished crafting. Items appear in system but CPU still believes they need to be crafted. stays like that indefinitely. Additionally, system drags everything except the Redstone into the chest. I have to manually put the correct amount of Redstone into the chest so it can make the final processor. All other aspects work. Makes the silicon, quartz gold, diamond chips. Pulls in all other resources. Recognizing it is done and pulling Redstone are the only issues. Could someone help? 1.18.2- latest version as of July 1st '22

I'm on AOF5 right now, which is on 1.18.2. I was able to get it to work but it took a little while. Make sure that the top storage bus has redstone in one of the slots, and is set to insert only. 4 out of the 5 storage buses should be set to insert only. The only one that it doesn't matter is the silicon one. Double check your connections, your storage bus configs (redstone, certus quartz, etc. all in their proper storage buses), and try to toy with it some. It takes a little bit, but you should be able to manage on this version.

My printed logic circuits do not pass into the inscriber to be merged with the printed silicon, only the printed silicon and red stone are in the inscriber, this is the one you have to rotate but i've tried every rotation. **edit** my printed engineering circuits are not making it to the combination inscriber either so it's not taking them from both sides. All my devices are online.

You forgot to write what game/mod/modpack version you're running. I would suspect the filter setting in the storage bus for each of the three bottom ones. Make sure it's only filtered on insertion so that the export bus up top can reach the items. And make sure the export bus is configured with CORRECT part (also a common mistake).

Not sure if I understand you guys wrong... you get mana? Like in Mana Diamond or something else??? I tested this in AoF5 version 1.5.1 (based on the other comments and that I had the pack) and for some reason I got the Mana Diamond in the pattern instead of the regular. So weird because I'm sure I didn't have the Mana Diamond in the inventory. I cleared the pattern and storage Bus and made sure it said regular Diamond (Minecraft) everywhere. However, I still had some issues until I cut power to the Inscribers and replaced the Interface. In the end I implemented the chest solution and it seems to work fine now, I get all three processors crafted and can order all at the same time. If I understood wrong then please explain more what happens!

@@therealtkh Basically what happens is; once the item is done crafting and sent back to the pattern provider it gets turned into "Mana" (the liquid type). But i actually fixed this the other day. Its was a bug in the Applied Botanics mod. I updated from version 1.3.1 to 1.3.2 and now it works as shown in your video :D

@@amando7654 Ok, that's great to hear! I didn't try this in older AoF5 versions but in version 1.5.1 of the pack it's actually running version 1.3.1 of Applied Botanics and things works for me, but I'll keep that in mind in case I run into issues or hear more about it. Thanks for the update!

@@kyleladner5861 Do you mean that the redstone is not ending up in correct Inscriber? Check filter settings in storage bus. Also: check so you have all devices ONLINE, otherwise you have connected something wrong and have no free channel for that one. Quartz fiber in correct positions is important.

Hey man, this is such a helpful video and I finally feel like I know how all these parts work! Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to get my build to work. Gonna add a lot of info here, not sure how much or little will help. Based off other comments, I suspect either an issue with inscriber alignment or a misunderstanding of channels. On a 1.18.1 survival multiplayer server, and my inscribers definitely are textured differently than yours. I have copied your build block for block (I'm still painstakingly checking to ensure this is true), with the exception of using an ME chest in place of a drive. I'm also using a generator from another modpack to power the system. I also do not have a crafting monitor above my 4k crafting unit. The printed silicon makes it into the middle, redstone-supplying inscriber but none of my bottom circuits are flowing through my export bus. I've ensured that they are indeed all in the export bus when testing. Also, the process actually doesn't initiate unless I cancel the crafting sequence in my crafting unit, which is weird to me. Happy to provide more info if needed, and will definitely provide updates as I keep debugging! Thanks in advance if you've read this cry for help lol

Hey! It sounds really weird that the process won't start unless you cancel the job. I wonder if you have a power issue.. Use a network tool to check the system power requirement and usage but this is a longshot! Have you tried to build this in a creative world to see that it behaves with unlimited power for example. The other differences should not make any difference though. Also, feel free to jump on to the Discord server which makes it easier to send screenshots.

I'm in the same boat, built/tore it apart twice now and it will make all of the parts it just won't put the printed circuit out into the top.

@@irongronousmagnus7652 It's so hard to find the missing piece without more information, and screenshots really helps! Please provide more info about mods/pack and consider joining us on Discord for easier discussions. If you have a problem with getting the bottom print to the top there's usually an incorrect configuration in the Export bus or the Storage bus (like the I/O filter). Or a misplaced block somewhere that makes some device offline.

In the section where you were showing how you first did it that didn't work right, well what did I care about that, so I skipped that section, twice :( The printed circuits in the export bus... kinda important. Well, it could be the filter setting, or a block is misplaced making the Storage Bus offline. I don't know what mod version or what build you went with so it's a bit hard to guess.

Ok, then things should work fine so I still suspect a misplaced block. Check other comments and watch the details in the video again so every block and setting is correct. I still don't know anything about your build, if things works for the other parts, if devices are online, all quartz fiber are in place etc.

Hi! I think I understand why using the interface doesn't work anymore. The pattern provider has an special interaction with the interface, the wiki says "if the interface is unconfigured the provider will skip the interface entirely and push directly to that subnet's storage, skipping the interface and not filling it with recipe batches, and more importantly, not inserting the next batch until there's space in storage". This is inconvenient in this usecase so all we have to do is put a random item in the interface config and the patter provider will treat the interface as a chest again.

This is very good info! The workaround with a buffer chest has been flawless ever since I started using it but to be hones I never thought of configuring the interface with any OTHER item than we're using. I got a suggestion to filter it with the items we were using and it worked fine most of the time, but every now and then an item got stuck in the interface. I might have an answer to that as well but I did a lot of tests with the new configuration method and it seems to work just fine. Thanks a lot for telling, I will test a bit more and then update the video description with this info :)

Not sure if that was a call for help but you didn't provide any information about the build; game&mod version, if anything works... so it's a bit hard to even guess. Every block is important and one single mistake can make it to halt completely.

Hey, Im am trying to craft processors fast, Even with max acceleration cards on everything (even export buses and what not) the inscriber fills up. It it possible to build 2 of those and somehow link it to 1 pattern provider? I am playing in my own custom modpack, with all configs on default except AE2 x4 channels mode (Makes cables have 4x times channels)

This specific build is not really expandable, but I have made other videos with divided patterns to make it possible to speed up the crafting for mass production. Check the AE2 playlist and see if you find a setup that works well for you and your other mods. Advanced Inscribers might be the simplest solution, but is not "vanilla AE2" :)

I have made videos on this subject, but you use crafting card upgrade in an interface and then specify how many you want to have in stock. The crafting upgrade will order processors and store them in the interface. Use a storage bus to access them from the network.

@@pvpzulu8247 Please check through other comments as I get many questions and it's always a minor misplace. So check the filter settings, the export bus filtering, and that all devices are online and active. A single misplaced block will halt the entire build.
