Simple DIY solution works just as well. I use a skewer diagonally over the pot, so the coupler can’t fall in. Easy-peasy.

Yup, mine dropped in the pot first time I tried it. After that used a screwdriver across the top to keep it out.

Or don't use the coupler, a leftover piece of stripped Romex electrical wire is what I use since 1995 (Works better to me since it doesn't fold or flap around)

I love the R&D and constant improvements across all your products. One suggestion for the next version of the 'Silca Crockpotinator 4000' is to make the it slightly larger. Before the Silca pot I was using a cheap oval shaped 2qt slow cooker. That 2qt size with the oval shape is much easier to submerge the chain without displacing wax and making a mess.

Actually we've gone as far as possible due to electronics/temp controls - any more increase in size and all kinds of logistics (and costs) change.

Simple solution. I put a DIY wire hook threaded through the red mast that I use to hook onto the coupler. A piece of wire and some needle nose pliers.

FYI, my threaded piece pulled off the first time I used mine, but a teeny dab of superglue on the cable end and re-crimping has made it solid.

Can also use a wire hanger to hold the chain or coupler so there is no chance for the coupler to fall in.

My chain coupler failed. (The cable slipped out of the crimped side) Is there a way to get one of these new ones?

Mine failed in the same way. I put together two key ring style aircraft cables and that works pretty well but would welcome the new style coupler as well.

Nice however i'm supprised by the looks on this video that the ''cable crimp'' is the same lenght as the previous one. That's what failed on mine ie: not enough cable material inside the crimp therefore when screwing on unscrewing, cable came oout of crimp.......

Mine broke while using it the first time. Had to use a piece of stiff wire instead. Sent a complaint to Silca's customer service and never heard back much less a replacement coupler.

Thank you Silca for sending the new design as a replacement. There is still a fundamental problem in that if wax gets down inside the shaft of the coupler where the cable goes through then the cable can't spin twist after you remove the chain from the wax and the wax inside the handle hardens. Trying to unscrew the cable results in the cable having to twist which around itself requires quite a bit of torque. I ended up having to heat the coupler's handle so the cable would spin so I could more easily unscrew the threaded tip. I think a better design would be just to use a tube and a length of lamp chain with a coupler to join the ends of the chain.

This is something that should be changed. The old version did not screw in well and also fell into the wax. I bent the spoke and placed it under the coupling so it wouldn’t fall through.

I bought those little wire things on temu in bulk for a couple dollars, and add a piece of straw or tubing at the top. I just leave the wire in until its time to use that chain to keep in packed nice. What’s with that stylish water bottle….hmm

Sorry, but someone needs to say true: poor design!. Two major issues: 1) it gets so hot you can't take with hands (it should be covered in silicon or etc) 2) drown with chain - there is no hook or anything which can hold, or just make it longer. In general chain holder (red tower) - it is suppose to fit with pot, but if you want to move or something - they are separate (cards tower :))), and it's not compact - it should not use any space while it's not used - make it collapsible, also cable could be retractable or it should have mountings on the pot. You can do it better I'm sure
