Tyler Godspeed Add the Bruins to that list, too. 3 Stanley Cup Finals, 20 games in said Cup Finals, 1 Cup. Yeah, the 1970's were better on paper, but 1970 had 2 rounds of playoff hockey and the conferences were split between Original 6 and Expansion, 1972 was legit, but 1971's choke kinda seems like a buzzkill when it could have easily been a 3-peat had they not gone full Habs pushover in the final minutes of regulation. Then, cue the rest of the 1970's losses to the Habs. By the 1980's, they were old as hell and had to rebuild just in time to get dominated by the Oilers in 1988, then the 1990's rear their ugly head just in time to get convincingly beat by the Oilers in 1990, without Gretzky this time. The rest of the 90's is wasting away Adam Oates and Ray Bourque's careers, the 2000's were wasting Jumbo Joe while picking up all of the pieces required for the 2011 Stanley Cup team, and the 2010's were the franchise's best years in terms of winning. 2010: Reverse sweep to the damn Flyers, 2nd Round. 2011: Stanley Cup Victory over the Canucks in 7 games. 2012: 1st Round loss to the Washington Capitals in 7 games. 2013: Stanley Cup Finals loss to Chicago, 6 games, lockout year. 2014: President's Trophy, 2nd Round loss to, you guessed it, Montreal. 7 games. 2015: Missed 2016: Missed 2017: 1st Round loss to Ottawa, 6 games. 2018: 2nd Round loss to Tampa Bay, 5 games. 2019: Stanley Cup Finals loss to St Louis, 7 games. Made the playoffs 8/10 times. Won Franchise First President's Trophy Broke a 39 year Cup drought Made the Cup Finals 3/10 times Overall record of 462-250-94 (.605 win %) 1,018 points Playoff Record of 69-52 (.570 win %)

I think Kane might challenge Stan, but that 1,000 point mark is still only very slightly over 2/3 the way. Right now Kane has 938 Points in 12 seasons played, he needs 530 more to pass Mikita. It took Kaner 8 seasons to get 530 career points, will he still be scoring at that high of a rate when over 36, if not he will have to play after age 38 to have a shot at catching Mikita???? Kane can do it, it is possible for him, but it is far from a lock. Lets Go Hawks!!!

2020 UPDATE NOTE: Denis Savard and Doug Wilson are the only players in the Hockey Hall of Fame who played for both, the Chicago Black Hawks and the Chicago Blackhawks. NOTE: Prior to the 1986-87 season, while going through the team's records, someone discovered the team's original NHL contract and found that the name "Blackhawks" was printed as a compound word as opposed to two separate words, "Black Hawks", which was the way most sources had been printing it for 60 years and as the team had always officially listed it. Frederic McLaughlin, the Hawk's founder, bought the Portland Rosebuds of the Western Hockey League after getting the NHL franchise rights, and moved them to Chicago to form the Black Hawks. He wisely changed the name with an ode to his WW I Army Division, whose nickname was itself a ode to Ma-ka-tai-me-she-kia-kiak (AKA Black Hawk, or Black Sparrow Hawk). Irene Castle (a stage name, born Irene Foote) who's 3rd husband was Hawks founder Major Fredric McLaughlin designed the first Blackhawk logo. She was interesting all by herself, Broadway dancer/actress, silent movie actress, animal rights activist, animal shelters she founded are still active.

As a hawks fan. I do not consider 3 cups in 6 years a dynasty. In my opinion one of those cups needed to be back-to-back. It’s hard to consider them a true dynasty when they haven’t won back-to-back championships. If Leddy didn’t score on himself in game 7 Vs L.A. I think we r having a different conversation.

Yea the hawks didn't win a cup for nearly half a century, but they were in the playoffs and made a lot of deep runs that whole time except for 1 year and the 10 yr drought starting in 97. And of course a lot of teams were in the same boat, but some of their most solid years with a greater chance of hoisting the cup were when the Oilers were making everyone their bitch and they also shit the bed in the early 90s and wasted talent. That 10 yr period starting in 97 was especially dark and sad. Besides Dollar Bill trading away the best players, Pat Foley was more or less relegated to the wolves, and you couldn't watch games on television. Dollar Bill did great things for American hockey, but Rocky is the one who steered the ship back on course.

Six guys (including Crawford) did not receive QA (Tallon's fault) of those six guys all were signed, and only two had to be paid slightly more than necessary. It was Tallon's bad contracts that made that 2010 have to jettison so many, Campbell's contract was crazy.

I know looking at it now the Panarin trade makes a lot of sense and looks good for Chicago but i still really don’t like that move as a fan of the Hawks. It is still very painful to think that Columbus gets a pretty uneven trade to get Saad and then they flipped him back to us for a phenomenal winger. Saad is fine when he’s on a streak but overall his kind of above average play does not even come close to matching what Bread Man does.

Should the New England Patriots change their name and logo because of them rebelling against the British?
