Dear parents! When Your kids are very good behaviour all the time and always taking good care of their things, keeping their rooms very clean, loving their favorite things and want to make nice childhood collections of their things: books, clothes, toys, video games, clothes, DVDs and etc, then donataing is very wrong thing to do. If You have few space then storage boxes and shelves will help You out and Your kids will be very happy and thankful then, if they can keep their favourite things. Childhood things are very valuable and it is very sad, if they won’t see them anymore in their life. Every child should have the right to keep their things, if they can take good care of them all the time!!! Respectfully, Astra Viil ☺️❤🙏

This is the single best inspiring video I have ever seen. What did you do with everything you got rid of? Is it in storage or donated? Do you ever feel the need to get new more developmental older toys?

thank you, these are such kind words. over time we have regifted to other friends, donated, trashed, and recycled accordingly. honestly, we have even shifted since this video and I should update again. the toys have grown with the kids and we have swaps that occur as they gain new favorites, but overall it is around the same level. We do have a BIG new favorite I should update in a future video. Have a great day--see you around.

Hey- I like you, not throwing shade at all. Family minimalism seems to be an under reached niche & there seems to be potential here. Just want to say I think your video would be way more engaging if you edited & cut in some footage of your play areas and pictures of the toys you keep and use, etc. People don’t tend to listen to someone chatting monotone for more than 3 minutes these days. No shade- I do like you, just mix it up a bit & I think you will have great success! Wish you well

Thanks for sharing. I found this really inspiring. I feel like most kids have waaay too much stuff. And we are at a similar level. We have quite a few more if you consider the ones in our library (it works well for us), but we have out same amount like you, I'd say.. Also thanks for mentioning the stuffed animals. I feel this is a really hard one! Christmas is coming up and people are already asking what toy we want.. and honestly on the list I made over the last 6 monthe with things I think my child would like.. there's literally ony 2 toys. Feeling slightly anxious about what we will get..

I get you on the impending holiday toy influx. Kind of prepping and concerned about that myself. I’m feeling a need to unload more ‘toys’ and encourage my kids to make their own toys and set ups from cardboard and loose parts. The most used toy in our house right now if the nugget couch.

I found that if I ask for really expensive toys we get lots less. I feel a bit bad about it, but I know that they would spend the money anyhow and like this it's only one tay and not many.. Also these toys can be re-sold for a good part of their original price, so that's giving me a bit more peace of mind to know that my child could re-sell and then get something else if he wanted to.. I would prefer people to buy second hand, but I can't seem to take me serious on that one..

This is fantastic! How do you choose toys that come in to your home? And, thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you! Honestly, most things just find their way in for a small period of time. We have some "classics" that tend to be favorites, but those are often random thrift finds or things the kids made. I am shifting more to a focus on the process of making toys from cardboard and loose parts than of a purchased thing. But, we do get many items as gifts and they often have a short stay.

6 months ago, we had very little and somewhat manageable, then he got into bluey and then birthday and Christmas at the same time. trying to figure out how to balance it all. do your kids go to nursery/school? did you find you didnt need as much toys because they were playing more away from the home? I feel the difference when we are out vs in, but wondered if its the same with home all day vs in a school like setting.

I can totally relate to this, and our lives look similarly to this pattern often. My kids are now homeschooled and it is winter so we are spending more time indoors. I tend to have a January freak out and get rid of a lot of what they have broken or don't play with from the gifts from the holidays. I'm finding the fewer and less toys we have, the more creativity, sharing and imaginative play that can take place.

I did another declutter since. We are down to what fits compactly on 3 bookcase shelves in boxes or what fits spaciously under a single bed lol. Although that doesn't include the table and chairs and the buggy, the football and tennis ball, a tennis stand thingy and the 2 ride on toys as they are too big. BUT they would fit under the single bed height wise, if I didn't have the drawers there lol. I'm feeling pretty satisfied with the result and that includes creative stuff! @@HalleSweetPea
