In 25:52, you could've used \begin{table}[!th] % rest of the latex code ... \end{table} Notice the table option (`!th`). So, you don't have to use float package anymore. You could also use `h!`, it will also fix the problem.

Hi! Thank you for your tutorials! They are very helpful and easy-to-understand. I like how you are not too fast but also not too slow in speaking. Would you have an idea why my \vspace[1cm] isn't working? Does it require a package, too?
@MichelleKrummel3 жыл бұрын
(1) Try inserting a blank line before it, or (2) try \vspace*[1cm] instead. It's hard to say without seeing the surrounding code.

@@MichelleKrummel Hi, Michelle! Thanks for your reply. I figured it out. I was viewing your tutorial from a very small screen so I did not notice that it waa supposed to be curly braces instead of square brackets. But I wonder why you wrote square brackets in your reply. May I know when a square bracket is used in the code and when a curly brace is used? They seem to both be used for indicating parameters or specifications. By the way, your tutorial vids are so helpful and easy-to-understand. Codes can get intimidating but you've broken it down to a way that beginners can digest. Thank you so much!

Hey again Michell! I've just finished writing this tutorial 3. I's been wonderful doing it. May I ask a question please? If I wanted to justify to the left side of the page the fractions and the arrays what should I write in the code, and in which line/s? Hope I've been clear with my question. Thank you Michell in advance and I wish you and your family have a very good new year.

You can use \begin{flalign*} instead of \begin{align*}. Just be sure to use an extra & at the end of each line, like so: \begin{flalign*}1&2&\\3&4&\end{flalign*}

Nice video; thanks. For the other pedants out there: the name "pipe symbol" for "|" only (slowly) came into use after the creation of Unix in the mid-70s. Before that, it was known as "vertical bar" -- which is still its proper name. For "}" and "{", I just call them "braces"; including "curly" sounds redundant to my ear. "[" and "]" are "brackets".

Hi! I wanted to put my grain of sand here. I am using MiKTeX 20.6.29 + Visual Studio Code (which I find best for multipurpose editing plus I've synchronized it with Github), and tried the \def command for stretching the array, but it didn't work. I had to use enewcommand{\arraystretch}{1.5} instead. Thanks!

Is possible to use the align enviroment for numbering certain equations and not others? For example let's say I want to enumerate just the first equation within align then I proceed to put some equalities that I don't want to enumerate, so later when I use again align enviroment continues the previous enumeration.
@MichelleKrummel4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use onumber to turn off numbering for a specific line. See the explanation here: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/17528/show-equation-number-only-once-in-align-environment/17529
