So cool. Reminds me of living on our cattle ranch in north western Colorado. We had Herefords. They do well in the cold, snow and are good mothers.

Yes. Love Herefords as well.

This is one of my very favorites, and a joy to watch the longhorns take form and life with the darks and lights and all the tones. That wonderful dust is something I'll have to incorporate, along with the glazing in the back to recede things. So many great tips in this one, as in all of the videos. Thank you once again, David!

So many excellent points in your video. I live in Tucson and given temps and lack of humidity painting with acrylic has a small window of comfortable opportunity here. But, everything you teach is applicable to other mediums and so I use there to improve my techniques. Although we are still the old southwest here I don’t paint westerns but do practice with flowers. I’m mostly a nature photographer and artist. And that’s why I appreciate what you do. I learn a lot by figuring out how to apply it to my style of work. I thank you for that. I also love the stories your paintings portray. By the way, your painting reminds me of good times with my cowboy neighbor. He looked so much like Robert Duvall (same height, build, humor too) when Duvall wasn’t sporting a mustache. We had many fun adventures together including riding horses through the desert. A couple of times a year he’d go down to Amado to drive cattle up/down the mountains. Talk about dust! He passed 10 years ago now. I miss him dearly.

Beautiful, I really enjoying listening to your voice and explaining your techniques. My goal is to loosen up, so glad to hear you've trained yourself away from over painting too. Thanks for sharing.

I learn with you so much, I see your print outs, do you print your own, if you do could you please tell me what printer you use. I'm 66 yrs young and live in the cold country of the pacific northwest, so I'm a winter painter mostly. I would like to make my own prints, just not sure which printer to buy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, Great work buy the way

Thank you Jerry. I use a laser printer from Dell. They don't make that model any longer. HP makes some nice laser printers. I would use a laser rather than an inkjuet just because the cost of the inks. If your making prints to sell, I would use a 6 color inkjet for higher quality.

@@JansenArtEducation ThankYou, David. I didn't realize that lazer printers did that well of a job, I've been looking at every option, now I'm really undecided. Thank you david, and I will see you on the net
