What a great video. Amazingly helpful, even for someone who's not completely new but hasn't gotten to fully min max yet Just curious if you've got your actual builds (mainly interested in the Rapier variations - including attuned pants cuz the track hates me with nimble lol -with off hand choices and perks and gear and trees/attrib) laid out in New World Buddy, or another place and would be willing to share? Easier to have a static visual while in game and sorting through tons of stashed gear, the kiln or the TP to pull it all together than re-scrubbing through a vid. But I get it if that's not your thing. Thanks again for the great vid!

I'm new as of the Aeternum update. Why wouldn't we want Tondo in this build with Finisher when it offers 26% crit chance and a 10% weaken? It's also a very short cooldown skill, and with the first build (admittedly I watched from a timestamp further towards the end in response to a question I asked regarding what perk to upgrade onto the weapon) I didn't really see the use of Riposte. Wouldn't an Evade/Flurry/Tondo make better use of the weapon's attribute and deal more DPS via another bleed source as well as crit rate increase?

This is an awesome video. Exactly what I was looking for. Quick question though. For people who hate rapier. How comparable are the other weapons type when they spec for full damage and not for additional buff's/debuffs. For example, someone using hatchet full DPS will they do aprox 20% less damage their rapier? What about greatsword? Etc. What are some comparable alternatives that for groups not looking to push speed.

@@ParetoESO you just don’t hate rapier, other weapons you will do less damage. @TheMarc2k12 күн бұрын
Thanks for this cool video! Ive got one question about the DPS FnF Build. In the Spreadsheet it says you are using a Fire Staff as a secondary weapon. I just wonder in which situation you would use the Firestaff (Gorgon Raid) I guess to Stamina drain the first Boss?. Also what skill Tree would you use?
@schmecklmeister767512 күн бұрын
Generally speaking, a lot of rapier players will use offhands with range like musket/bow/firestaff. These builds offer long lasting DoTs (damage over time, like powder burn on musket). You can use your offhand for quick burst damage, and also range damage during phases with mechanics. Generally speaking tho, you'll be on your Rapier 95%+ of the time in a fight. So you can really use whatever offhand you'd like. One thing to note is that Distained Infliction makes DoTs from your offhand super strong now. You can apply a dot with your offhand, and then in theory, permanently extend the DoT so that it never expires simply by hitting enemies with your rapier. Distained Infliction hits extend all your DoTs by 5% on every hit!
@TheMarc2k12 күн бұрын

@schmecklmeister76759 күн бұрын
We've done some testing and it is hard to say whether Attuned Leather Pants or Winged Leather Boots is optimal for Evade Rapier. The damage difference between both is INCREDIBLY close. I am not comfortable suggesting one over the other for right now, but I can tell you that both are very good and a viable option. Honestly, void blade dps is completely fine. My only comment would be that if you run with more experienced healers, they'll be able to handle healing and using voidblade. In these cases, if you signed up as a dps, I'd probably have another build on standby since there is generally no need for 2 voidblades in a comp (at least for boss fights). If you have healers that just camp life staff tho, by all means, blade away!!

Blade and Oblivion are always mandatory, and rupture is still insane for bosses, giving your entire team +20% leeching and additional stem regen. The only big change you could make would be to your stats. 25 Str, 50 Dex, 350 Int, and the rest in focus. I had considered making a video for m3s, but I don't think there will ever be a scene around m3s like there used to be. The lack of endgame rewards, over-simplified meta, and disgustingly awful combat changes have contributed to this from my perspective. Apologies if this comes as a disappointment. I do have a ton of tank build overviews for specific expeditions in my KZbin. Feel free to browse a bit and see if anything satisfies what you were looking for.

@schmecklmeister76759 күн бұрын
When boss is below 50%, then perforate rend will not stack and can only be applied from one spear, meaning at most, perforate from both spears will do a combined total of 15%. However, because of Exacerbating Crits passive, it is possible to extend the rend you have applied when the boss is above 50% for a long time, as long as you keep critting the boss. This isn't very viable in Hive unfortunately because the bosses have so many phase mechanics :(

@schmecklmeister767515 күн бұрын
Normal uptime on evade is 2 seconds, with empowered on ammy this goes up to 2.66 seconds. Sometimes depending on your rotations, you might have empowered downtime since flurry is a long animation, and cooldown rotations can sometimes be messy due to desync, ping, rotations. Empowered on amulet is just extra insurance that you have 100% uptime on evade empower. Additionally, your only role as rapier is to due damage. Since you're playing a selfish build that offers no utility to your team, it is your responsibility to min max your damage as much as you can

Trenchant Rend is of course nice, but probably the last priority in the rend table. Since Trenchant Rend is only 16% rend compared to Sundering Clear Out's 24%, always prioritize Clear Out first and Trenchant Rend second!

@schmecklmeister767515 күн бұрын
Nature's Wrath is probably never going to be used in PvE, at least for the foreseeable future. The changes to Wrath in the season 6 update make it pretty bad. I probably only see wrath being used for a fire staff player in PvP, but even this is unlikely. Serenity is very strong and a very good weapon. While rapier is always more damage, I would easily take a good player with Serenity any day of the week for my raid runs.

@schmecklmeister767512 күн бұрын
It is not useless to have 2x this perk. At the very least, you'll get a +5% base damage increase by using it on both weapons (which is pretty good). To comment on the Rapier/Spear build, the main issue with using both weapons is that you can't spec attributes to min max each weapon. It's fine to keep the spear if you think you need utility (weaken, rend, CC), but you'll want to decide what weapon you want to prioritize with your attribute distribution. Assuming you slot 350 dex, after doing so slotting STR will mean you want to use Spear as your maingand, slotting INT will mean you want to use rapier as your mainhand. Generally speaking, anytime you swap weapons, you're losing DPS. It's normally common for players at a higher level to legit camp one weapon for the majority of the fight.

Would you consider azoth conductors on a void blade setup? For a pure dps role
@Mewziqal15 күн бұрын
I guess in theory, you could do this. Since the 15% from the artifact perk offsets the 15% you lose from going light to medium. On top of giving you more armor. But you're also just losing out on a ton of attributes from Attuned Leather Pants (ALP). So the azoth conductors will be a dps loss compared to ALP for sure. But that might be okay for you if you want to prioritize survivability while you learn mechanics.

Isnt Lifering rapier (with evade, rogue, vicious) be better for evade build?
@schmecklmeister767515 күн бұрын
It was never 'better' than finisher, but it was very close. It was also a best in slot rapier specifically for ancients, because you could run mjolnir and lifering for more damage than finisher could provide. Lifering was also needed for expeditions where you wanted different gems in your rapier, think Ennead or Starstone for example, where the expeditions contained 2 mob types. To more directly answer your question - some people in our community tested a 725 GS Finisher with Distained Infliction and a 700 GS Lifering Rapier with the Inferno offhand to boost rapier damage even further. Finisher still came out on top with slightly more damage and slightly faster kill times. I decided not to bring all this up in the video because I believed it was more important to focus on the larger picture to maximize damage, rather than discuss bis rapiers cause we just need more time to test things to figure out the best options. All this being said, even if something is better than finisher with distained infliction, it will most likely only be marginally better

Do you know why dummies are showing "immortal" instead of damage numbers ? I opened a bug on discord but no dev answered...
@schmecklmeister767515 күн бұрын
I'd expect there are 2 possibilities. The first is, this is just an unintended change of the recent patch, AGS had no clue this would happen. The second is a popular conspiracy theory. In short, AGS doesn't really like their players and enjoys taking away QoL features from them. The debate around Combat Logs and DPS Meters has been pretty heated for the last few years, and every time it has been brought up in the forums or on the official discord, AGS has always brought up that these things would be bad for the game and create a toxic player base. So, it's quite possible that in order to make the game even more casual friendly, they decided to get rid of the one and only way to reliably test damage, which was on dummies. Now the console player base has zero way to decide what weapons, combos, and attribute splits do more damage via individual testing, their only option is to record their gameplay, watch it back, and compare numbers. I would not be surprised if this was an intentional change to promote less competitive play. The devs don't really care to add content the players actually request and normally take away the content and QoL features we actually want. Always remember, the community has been asking for a new OPR map and additional PvP game modes for 3 straight years now.

@@schmecklmeister7675 Thank you for your answer, I've heard of AGS trying to appeal more to casual gamers which is a mistake for long-term I think. I don't see how disabling dummies is useful either as hardcore players like yourself will find ways to min-max regardless of what AGS does. If this was intentional it's a pretty shitty thing to do as it was our only reliable way of understanding abilities and perks, whether you were casual or not :(
