I'm concerned that your Appalachian treasure may have been compromised by the disastrous events in North Carolina and you may not be able to address this because either answer may eliminate an area from the search so, any comment on this would be appreciated. That disaster was classified as a geological event because so much of the area was changed. Trillions of tons of earth was moved, washed away. Sections of mountains were changed by mudslides. The whole area around Asheville was forever changed geographically. I can imagine someone cleaning in the rubble and coming across a treasure chest. That's the stuff of dreams

I became interested in the Forrest Fenn's treasure back in 2013 and became serious about in 2019. I was thinking the same thing about pooling money or clues, but then thought who can you trust? I just found out about this treasure hunt last week and every place is sold out of the book. I love adventure and travel, but I'm in the same boat again. Was forced into retirement in August. I have so many questions. Like how are you ok with just leaving a treasure chest out in the middle of nowhere for anyone to stumble on? If it's just for the book buyers then how do you make sure they specifically get it? Also how do you know when it's been found? Do you have a tracker hidden in the chest? Also if it's sitting out somewhere while it's snowing it could get damaged. Or if there's a storm or flood it could get destroyed. And that's assuming no one accidentally stumbles on it without knowing there's a book about it. Also are they hidden behind a bush or in a cave? Or are they just sitting out in the open?

I just tried to post a warning to those wanting to buy this book that the paperback edition is NOT the book you want. But KZbin wouldn't post it. So, let me try again: The paperback turned out to be some sort of strange guidebook FOR THE BIG BOOK. And nowhere on the cover does it say that it is NOT the book with maps, codes, illustrations, etc. I doubt the Kindle edition is the real thing either, given the price difference. Also, the paperback edition has strangely disappeared off Amazon, where I bought it. I'm afraid this is a scam.
