This is the best instrument comparison in any genre on KZbin. Partly because of his outstanding set up and commentary but also the gorgeous sound demo at the end. I don't play guitar much but I want a Taylor really bad now. Grand concert is the one for me. Thanks!

I picked up a bt2 during the Taylor Days 2020 sale. I play it very often and must say it's a great travel guitar, pretty audible sound for its size. I try to bring it with me any chance I get, it usually gets positive feedback when it's heard.

Sort of missed the Big Baby, didn't you? I would sort of like to know how the BBT with a 25.5 inch scale actually would play differently than the Academy . Or, the GS Mini. Although Big Baby has the full length scale, it is smaller and shallower in the body.

@charlesbranch41203 жыл бұрын
Size info is available on Taylor Guitars dot com, and the current issue of Wood & Steel describes model numbering and specs by series. Deep diving... I can tell you that my Breedlove Exotic Concert E fits Gator Cases 000 model, and is about 1/2" larger in each dimension than the GC size Academy 12. Larry Breedlove brought his concert body guitar to work one day, so he and Bob Taylor drew out the shape, squeezed here, pulled there, and developed Taylor's GC body shape. As Chris "*" McKee, Andy Powers, Hozen (Maestro Guitars) and many will say, a lot more than the dimensions factor into the sound produced by any guitar. Andy Powers spoke on picks and strings last year in an episode of Taylor Guitars Primetime (on KZbin, Tuesdays at 6 p.m. Pacific), encouraging experimentation with strings beyond the stock versions, "Think of the strings like the tires on a car. What do you want to do with it?" I have 11-52 and 11-50 sets waiting to replace 12-53 D'Addarios and Elixirs, and a set of hybrid 12-53s (probably for the Breedlove). Like the difference between bias ply and radials, my 'mileage may vary,' but that's where fun is found. Thanks, Tim. "The water's fine, just dive in!"
