I don't think you understand how empowering it is to see a true 4cer with low porosity hair. Personally I have low density hair so I've given up on the whole twist-out look. I'll only do it and then immediately put it in a high puff lol, but you look mad cute. And that makeup chillleeee flawless!!

see for my 4c hair, I always have to deep condition when I wash my hair cause my hair is color treated and its so much easier to detangle my hair while it is in so I have don't to detangle while doing my twists. I use non ammonia hair dyes for natural hair so I don't see a lot of damage from dying my hair. I also can't use water just as the L in the LOC method, I have to use a leave in/moisturizer then oil and a cream/butter to twist. my hair used to love cantu but after trying new brands, cantu aint the best for me. their products leave residue for me since I am slightly heavy handed with my products cause I want to make sure all my strands are coated cause I have thick hair. great video as always!

Taylor you’re beautiful as always. May I suggest doing your twist on wetter hair and detangle more before doing the twists and instead of air drying sit under a hooded dryer? For your thick hair using a foam like the Doux and sitting under a hooded dryer would make for an even more defined twist out on your hair. Even if you don’t use foam/mousse, sitting under a hooded dryer will stop the frizz and give lasting definition. Also residue usually occurs when two products don’t mix well together.

I will try the detangle more and wetter hair! Thank you for the suggestion!

I don't know about Taylor but, I kinda worry about putting heat on my hair so I tend to air dry more. If I were to use a hooded dryer can you recommend a heat protectant? As for the flakes, I was also thinking that she must have used 2 products that didn't "play well together" like something waxy and some sort of wet gel. I'm legit curious about the heat protection, let me know :-)

Michelle H there are 2 types of heat-direct heat which comes from hand blow dryers/diffusers. Indirect heat comes from a hooded dryer. You can google if I’m not making sense. There’s no need for a heat protectant. Hooded dryers DO NOT cause heat damage. Also check out Black Girl curls on Facebook and Instagram.

@@michelleh5706 Hi Michelle! I'm the same way. I don't like using heat on my hair so I typically will airdry. As for the product, in this tutorial I only used one curling product and one oil. I didn't mix two curling products, so I don't think that caused the residue. But I could be wrong. The last time I got residue I only used one curling product, no oil, or anything else, just the one product and got all the residue you saw in the beginning. I'm not sure that mixing products is the only way you can get residue.

As I unravel a twist, I begin separating the twist, because I hate double handling my hair. Plus this way I get the volume & style I want & don’t mistakingly skip unraveling twist. The style looks great on you.....hell you can pretty much rock any style, sis.

I live in Memphis. Have you ever been to Lisa Akbari for a hair & scalp analysis? I’m thinking about it. I use her products & I love them. Have you consider going or have you heard of her? My other favor line is Joico Moisture Line (Blue Bottle) The balm (deep conditioner) is best & the leave in called THE CONDITIONER.
