A couple things. Dilute the ACV, try Nizoral shampoo, avoid too hot water on your scalp as it’ll cause more irritation. Also keep in mind that oil is a sealant so applying when your scalp is freshly cleaned and moisturized may feel nice initially but it can also keep any additional moisture from getting in. I would suggest using a lighter oil when you do want to do that step(jojoba, almond, peppermint) castor oil is very thick so more likely to clog your pores without a carrier oil. Hope this helps🫶🏾

1. Apply Neutrogena Salicylic acid shampoo 3% directly on my scalp with applicator bottle before wetting hair/ getting in shower. (Let sit on scalp for 2 minutes) 2. Wet hair, lather, and rinse out completely 3. For 2nd wash, follow with any regular dandruff shampoo (active ingredient pyrithione zinc) 4. Condition, then style **You’re absolutly right. My dermatologist told me that oil on the scalp makes it worse! Not a medical professional in any way, just a girl that has suffered from really bad dandruff and eczema since childhood. This is the only combination that works for me. Hope it helps. ❤ Tip: try your best to apply SA and dandruff shampoo to scalp only. Use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner on hair,

Girl, this makeup is on point! This is definitely on date night replay. Beautiful and easy to follow for us who can’t do makeup at all! Just gorgeous!!Also, had the same hair issues and went to dermatology and they said I was super oily! Oil can cause flakey skin/hair just like dryness(who knew😳). So now just been washing (as little as possible) and conditioning and it’s gone! I am mixed so everything that works for black hair doesn’t necessarily work for me, but I’m so “influenced” by products I always have to try the new new. But NOT really messing with the scalp oils no more! Still use it on my actual hair, don’t get me wrong, but the scalp is only on rare occasion.

Your hair and make up came out amazing. You look beautiful! My tips .... 1) use an actual conditioner or a deep conditioner/hair mask to condition & moisturize your hair. 2) Don't use a hair masque as a leave in. 3) If you're going to use oil on your scalp it's probably best to do it as a prepoo before you shampoo your hair so your scalp isn't 100% stripped. Other great prepoos i love are aloe vera gel from the plant and ayurvedic ingredients. 1 of the benefits of amla powder is to "control dandruff. Using amla powder helps to reduce dandruff and flakiness on your scalp." It did exactly that for me. I use it as a prepoo mixed with water or into conditioner. Can also go into your deep conditioner. Use either way weekly or biweekly. I also love it as a spritz. Mix the powder with hot water, let it cool, strain it, put in a spray bottle then use on your scalp and hair before your leave in products. Refrigerate spray bottle. Use it whenever you refresh your hair. Can also use it to prepoo your hair along with oiling your scalp. Great combo.

I agree with what others have said about diluting the acv before putting it on your scalp. I use Nizoral shampoo and it made a huge difference for me! Also the dandruff is most likely not from dirt or your hair being dirty. I see a lot of people saying the dandruff may be from seborrheic dermatitis, something a dermatologist can also prescribe shampoo for. I hope this helps :)

Yeah it sounds like a scalp dermatitis. I have the same thing. I minimally apply oil directly to my scalp. The way it was described to me was that my scalp produces oils in excess so the cakey-ness is a result of solidified oils along with other things like sweat. Anyways I would suggest doing the acv rinse as you are but also not allowing my hair to stay wet when covered whether with a hat or scarf, etc. I only apply oil directly to my hair and allow my scalp to draw what it needs. Also If I do put any oil on my scalp it's a rosemary mint oil. Hope you can remedy it. Takes so much trial and error.
@CestShante Жыл бұрын
Hey Jasmyn, I have had the same issue and what I can recommend is getting peppermint and or pine oil for your scalp it will eventually eliminate dry scalp and irritation, you can also use rosemary oil for dandruff! If you can get them In a shampoo and a few drops to aid in using the shampoo, it should help you babe ❤

The As I Am anti-dandruff line is good and so is the Cantù cleansing cream shampoo, it removes build up for me without drying out my scalp and hair. A serum would probably work better for you if oil is too much. Sulfur 8 or shea moisture has a ACV & salicylic acid line with a leave in scalp treatment too.

Love you Jasmyn!! I hate that you're dealing with this dry scalp. I would see a dermatologist to see what's going on and they can recommend some things to help. But overall girl hair is looking good!! Hope you can figure out why your scalp is so dry and get it treated!!!

If you are prone to seborrheic dermatitis, malassezia folliculitis or dandruffs certain oils can cause dry ,flaky , irritated and/or itchy scalp because the oil is feeding the yeast or bacteria. Vitamin B6, B3 (niacin), B2 (riboflavin), and B6 (pyridoxine) folate and zinc deficiency can cause this as well. Nizoral shampoo can help clear these scalp conditions. There are oils such as grape seed and tea tree that’s is safe to use. As I Am also has a oil for scalp care which can help treat this as well.

Mine has been doing the samething and I thought it was more so do to me moving to a colder climate and being dehydrated but I've been in different climates for long periods of time after that and it's still happening. Find you some hair grease and use a little with your oil or mix it up. Don’t over kill on cleansing shampoos either. I specifically targeted hydration products because my hair sucks up my oils too. As well as, strengthening shampoos to help trap that moisture and work as an overall protective sealant. I’m about to go back to pink lotion too. If you wear your hair straight, it’s a perfect hydrating product other than oil as well. Sorry for the long comment, hair is my thing

Girlllll your routine is all over the place 😂 . You should do either the shampoo or cowash then the mask and RINSE it out ! You also can not scratch your scalp then put strong azz acv on it without diluting it first ! You should also get a medicated shampoo for your scalp and then use a mask like mielle rosemary but not too much as it is a protein treatment. Coconut oil can be drying to the scalp as well. Tea tree is good !

Oils don’t cure Seborrheic Dermatitis. The As I Am dandruff line has Salicylic acid which is the only thing that properly treats “dry scalp” dandruff isn’t necessarily dry scalp it’s an overproduction of oil that causes flakes.

Hey Jasmyn!! First ever comment. I’m sorry you’re going through this scalp problem. Hurry and get to a primary physician or Dermatologist. And please no vinegar.
