Kaiju fans often site Godzilla as being the grandfather of all giant monster movies, but in actuality that could be given to our hairy simian friend here. One problem I had with the 2005 version was the simple fact that Peter Jackson forgot to let Kong BLEED when he was shot. Even the original Kong bled. The 1976 Kong bled buckets, which one would do, considering the machine gun intensity. My FAVORITE moment from Jackson's Kong was Central Park. I don't know how it was worked, special affects wise, and I don't care. It just WORKED. There was genuine FUN there!
