If anybody is wanting to know like i did, i just got everything in and to get the caliper perfectly centered you will want a 3mm washer for the caliper. I got this at homedepot I brought a digital caliper and found the perfect one. This will help not having to grind the caliper. And also these will not fit 17 c5 z06 rims .

Hey Henry, I didn't see where he grinded it. Where exactly did you put the 3 mm washers? No clearance issues? You did this with the Z06 rotors? Only thing holding me back is grinding these puppies down. Thanks 👍🏻

@@Blakepts I did not have to grind on my calipers at all, but some people who are doing this, or realizing that the rotor is just a bit too large for the caliper, and will catch the very top and bottom edges of the internal track that the rotor follows within the caliper. Bach, install the set up first to see if you need to do any grinding. Depending on what rotors you buy as far as centric versus AC Delco, versus some other brands, there might be some slight variation, which is causing that requirement. Once you have the rotor marked up, if you do need to grind something you’ll see it very quickly where you need to do it but from what I’ve heard from other people it’s a very minimal amount. As far as the spacer is concerned, it goes in between the Mount ear on the knuckle, and the caliper ear. I believe there’s a section in the video where I show where I put the washers.

Hi man what’s your thoughts on the new c8 z51/21+Camaro monoblock 4 piston that use the same fitment 12.6 inch rotor as the ats caliper on c5/c6 with z06 rotor? Should be significantly stronger than the 2 piece ats caliper

@@miketuomi6310 not yet, but did some more research, and it seems ats will fit c8 caliper, but the price of c8 caliper I don't think the improvement from the ats caliper is worth the price

How has this held up for you? I just swapped these on mine this last weekend. Digging the upgrade. Not super stoked on how tight the wilwood lines seem to get at full lock. Not that the car sees a lot of time at full lock, but I’ve contemplated going about an inch longer on the flex hoses.

The piece of metal you put on top of the caliper and slides the pins through It's called an anti-raddle clip stops the pads from like the name says rattling and moving around

I cannot confirm 100% as I haven’t had anyone with a C6 try yet but hypothetically they should C6 brakes have been a long time swap option for C5s.

So the Camaro ss calipers should too be a match with the z06 rotors :D They are the same as Cadillac.

Your picture with the C6 Z06 rotor still shows the pad material outside the OD of the rotor. That doesnt fit in my opinion. The pads need to be slightly inside the radius on the rotor edge.

You are correct. There is maybe a 1/2 to 3/4 of a millimeter of overhang. I address this in the video. It’s not ideal but in the month or so I’ve used this set up now (the car is my daily, getting about 50-75miles a day) I have had ZERO operational issue. The pads are wearing as they should

Tried to install this today.. factory studs are too long to put a c6 base wheel on with the spacer, and the wilwood brake lines you linked don't have the right fitting to connect to the stock lines on a 2000 base model. Cut the factory studs down to where the threads start with an angle grinder and the wheel fits now but still will have to redo the whole process again because of the brake lines

Did you have to grind the calipers with the z06 rotors? I just seen another video of this same thing where he sanded down the caliper cause the rotor was making contact with it. I couldn’t find if you had to do that in this video. Thanks man!

I did not have to do that. But I used ACDelco rotors. I have heard some feedback that some people who went with aftermarket market rotors that they did have to do some minor shaving to allow better rotor clearance. Fro meh at I’ve heard from them though that there was no effect in performance once they made those clearances.

@@racingdreamz8021 basically any year of the Cadillac ATS so I think 2012 or 2013 up to basically 2019 maybe. It also comes from the 6th gen Camaro RS. So 16-24 for that. the part numbers I have listed in the video part for the Cadillac calipers specifically, but the Camaro caliper is identical except for the painted text on the front

Now that you have new calipers on the front, take the front calipers and put them on the back. get a c6 z51 front bracket and grind down the mounting bosses and bolt them on. Rotors in back are c6 z51 rears. It works

I really gone back-and-forth about what I wanna do with the rear. Unfortunately, I’ve had no luck finding a rear caliper. That would work that is a brembo style fixed caliper. And I need to do them soon. So I made seriously take this into consideration now! Thanks for the good suggestion

It’s a sticker. You can get them on eBay or Amazon for around $10 typically. Installed and the clear coated the caliper to somewhat seal it on

@@syborgallen624 I put the calipers from the front on the rear. I used C6-Z51 rear rotors and C6-Z51 front brackets. The Z51 brackets worked great just have to cut down the mtg bosses to center the calipers over the rotors. I had all the parts already so I though I would give it a try.

I am heavily considering converting those as well, but the brakes I ordered that were basically the rear brakes on the 6th Gen Camaros and C7 vettes. Don’t fit like the front brakes dead so that’s still kind of on the drawing board. definitely in the plans though.

I didn’t really need to sand the calipers before hand bc the material had a good texture to it already. I did wash them down with a degreaser soap and water then let them dry and then wiped them with alcohol before painting to make sure there wasn’t anything on them

And as for the rears. It’s in the plans. Made an attempt already but found the Camaro SS rear brakes do not fit the knuckle design so I will need to look at other options.
