A very good topic! I am in Australia and althought my free to air is all digital TV channels not all are in HD, let alone UHD. The non-HD ones actually look worse off on my 65" LG 4K new TV, than my old 49" one. There seems to be no upscaling for normal TV channels on the LG OLED TV? Is there any box that converts aerial content to a higher 4K? Cheers.

The options is only available thru the main companies that I mentioned, HBO Max is considered an add on, however the content is high resolution so it will look clean even if it’s 1080p

So what's the verdict with Sling TV? I have Sling Orange and tonight's NBA Finals Game 4 (Go Celtics ☘️) streaming on ESPN 3 (via ABC) was quite grainy on my new LG 4K 65" OLED. Quite disappointing 🙁 What's the fix?

Steve, using the Netflix app through a Comcast xfinity 4k box isn’t that great. To get the best hdr content I have found to use the Netflix app on my Sony tv to I can toggle the hdr bright setting.

I have a Vizio M series. I subscribe to KZbin TV. So I nce I don't use the HDMI 1 port, how can I streem 4K. I know that some content on standard KZbin is available in 4K, but I can't get it to stream from KZbin TV service.

In the video you mentioned HBO Max having 4K content. It sadly is not supporting 4K content yet. It may happen in the future but as of right now there is no 4K content on the service.

Hi, I have two input sources, USB and HDMI to play a 4k video on the 4K TV. If I use the USB input, I will make use of the TV media player to play the video. If I use the HDMI input, I will use external media player sources. Does playing 4k video through the HDMI input produce better picture/video quality than the USB input for the same video file played? Thank you.

TV usb is for thumb drives, HDMI is for external sources like Blu-ray or gaming consoles.

@@marcus9x9 Media player on tv for the usb is the manufacturer's version and is a poorer quality (lacks codecs) compared to other players like vlc as used on a computer.

thank you for your reply. im just having a hard time choosing a television. My 2008 LG LCD just gave out after 13yrs. It's an oldie, but it had no glare, no burn in, great wide angle view and good picture quality. I miss it. Today's OLEDS are spoiled.....they need the perfect dark room. My living room has three tall windows. I dont want to spend the money and be disappointed. Im hoping the 2021 LG mini lcd coming out solves my issues.

You should download movies anywhere, it combines all your movies in one or mulitiple locations. And you can add the movies that you have on dvd, well the electronic version. It’s really nice so I don’t have to mess around with DVD’s as much.

Hi Steve, I can't get most of the 4K game walkthrough videos on KZbin to play in 4K or even 1080p mode on my Samsung TV. Really weird. Netflix, Amazon, etc. all plays in 4K, but just not KZbin on most of these game walkthrough videos. Some 4K videos on tourism come out in 4K, but not all. Is this because KZbin is trying to get us to subscribe to KZbin premium to enjoy the view in 4K? Thanks in advance for any thoughts and tips.

I'm on a very fast fiber optic connection, and the router is connected directly to my 4K Samsung TV (non-HDR, older middle range model) using a 5G ethernet cable. Amazon and Netflix consistently streams 4K content without any drops. I can always play some KZbin videos in 4K, like those drone 4K travel+relax videos. It's just the game walkthroughs and some others only. They will not stream above 720p. Really weird. I'm thinking it might be a glitch in the KZbin app on this TV itself.

I’m not sure why but one these may help you, worse case factory reset but it’s a pain. Try uninstalling the app turn the TV off wait about 30sec, even unplug it to dump the cache memory, restart the TV and install again. You can try using wifi instead of a network cable, just as a test. You can try looking for a router update and restart it.

@@TechSteve Hadn't thought about trying it by WiFi, thanks, will do that. The Samsung TV doesn't allow me to uninstall (or reset to original) KZbin, saying it's a preinstalled app, so I might need to do a reset.

Try this for KZbin.. open up the app, gotto settings, press reset app the bottom. Then search for 4k demos afterwards. Play a video press the 3 dots on the video where it says more and see if you can force 4K

As the image you put in at 1:10 shows, there's not 4000 vertical lines in a 4K picture, it's only 3840x2160, so it's only 2x taller. At 2:10 4K Netflix only has 2160 lines of resolution. And in your intro, I think you've undersized the image. It should be 1/4 the area, which is 1/2 the height. It's definitely confusing that they went from using the vertical pixel count to measure to switching to the horizontal pixel count in this shift. Thanks for making this video!

CBS isn’t broadcasting the game in 4k. Last year fox were hosting the SuperBowl and broadcasted the game in upscale 4k.

Here in lies the problem with all these TVs. Normal broadcast is not 4k. The alleged upscaling sucks on all of them. I recently bought a CX and it's blurry as hell on cable. I returned it and went back to my 1080 Panasonic Plasma.

if they would display a 4k image/video on all midrange and high end tvs in the store's selling an oled would be a nightmare imo😂😂 some ppl actually buy 4k tvs thinking everything they see is going to be 4k!! I see this all the time blurry or 1080p content on lower end 4k capable tvs and obviously 🙄 4k hdr content on higher end models oled (specifically)therefore giving a false sense that oled is the only way to obtain clear and sharp image quality its crazy with these TVs 😂😂😂
