Great video! An alternative method for installing the resister would be to stager the splices so that the resister aligns parallel to the wires. It's just a little easier to tape up that way.

Hi I bought a 07 Prius with a pioneer radio whip Apple airplay it looks great and works great in the car. The box the radio came in was left in the car I noticed that it did not come with the resistor but with the fuse would That be the cause of the MFD not working correctly?

I installed a single din radio in the map pocket under the stock radio it fit perfectly. Look at my channel at some of the stuff I've done to my Prius.

You forgot to mention that in the same harness as the resister is the steering wheel control wires. You did not even mention how to retain them ether. It’s a nice feature to have.

Depends. Some Gen 4 versions use lithium ion in that case you can’t do it but the versions that use nickel metal still you certainly can.

Also, some of the features of the car are controlled on the stereo. What do you do without the factory head unit?

@@MichaelDuran oh got ya! Aftermarket units utilize your factory accessories such as a back up camera. If you don’t have one you can add one in pretty easily. There are also certain kits you need to ensure all the steering wheel controls work and function but I have yet to find a product put there that doesn’t work.
