Thanks Chris - this watch caught my eye a month or so ago. I am very much an affordable watch collector so this has actually become my Grail Watch. I love the black dial version in this size with the a couple of red accents. I really like the trident counter balance and the date at the 6 o'clock. The case is classy with a lovely finish and thin for a 300m diver. I think this is just the most fantastic watch. I really want one.

I think this watch is one of the most elegant dive watches out there. Almost every watch I have has a bezel so I bought a C63 Sealander last week. CW seems to be doing a great job at the moment and I'm sure the new logo will help their sales, the old one put me off buying into CW but I'm delighted with my Sealander. Great video as usual Chris, you do a great job of reviewing more mainstream watches.

I own 2 christopher wards. I bought the last version of the trident , blue, 38mm on the stainless bracelets and absolutely love it. Added one of their quartz chronographs found on a new years sale for only a couple hundred bucks. Their quality is phenomenal at the price and I'm happy to see them making improvements and listening to customer feedback. That'd a great sign for a company. I don't mind the Christopher Ward on my trident , but to be honest their new ones, thinner with the improvements to the bracelet..im super tempted to get one in white. I also love the new second hand . Good review too like your channel keep it up!

Great review. Been looking at getting a CW watch for a long time and there was always some detail that put me off, but i have finally decided to puu the trigger thanks to this review. Overall smash hit by Christopher Ward. I would say that the size of the bracelet clasp is on the long/large size, and I'd prefer the option of a steel Trident-design caseback. But the small trident balance on the second-hand works really well with the handset. I ordered the 40mm white dial on the hybrid strap, can't wait to put it on the wrist.

Great watch and all, but naming the company after some dude was a huge mistake. I'm sure they'll agree now, since Christopher Ward left the company a couple of years ago, but in general, unless you're someone seriously important and famous, just don't... I'm glad they're at least not writing it on the dial any more, the logo looks alright.

Your description says it all. Have the previous version and love it-solid watch at an absolute bargain price. Honestly, had no problem with the old design or logo...mostly. To nitpick I don’t actual prefer the exhibition case back on a diver...and find the orange seconds hand distracting. Also, with a color matching date wheel I would ditch the white frame. No logo at all would still be my preference...maybe ghost this one? Great video-thanks!

I think this is the best watch at the price point. There are things that I would change, domed crystal and I don't like the numbers ever 5 minutes on the bezel. But, at the price I wouldn't be that picky considering the rest of the package, I'll buy one soon. IF they want to venture into higher price brackets, the domed crystal and in-house movement would be necessary. I'm hoping they stay content making great value watches around $1k. I'll eventually own more than 1 Christopher Ward.

I love the look of these, ordered 2 before, both got sent back due to misalignment and dust on the dial. Such a shame that this also has the misaligned bezel, the new chapter ring in the bezel makes it too obvious to see for me. Agree with you on the case back, I much prefer the solid trident case back. But the length of the clasp is my biggest disappointment,looks huge. Would love one but these things put me off. Might see what the next rendition is like before I buy one.

So Christopher Wards goal is to bring high quality components at affordable prices. I read one article that discovered components being made for 6 well know Swiss made watch brands at the same factory, with one brand charged over 36x rrp (using those components as a guide) now I know that's not the be all and end all of a watches price or a companies mark up but it is further showing that Christopher Ward is a GREAT addition to the watch industry. I don't own a Swiss watch but my first most definitely will be Christopher Ward. Ps, love the video

I feel the state of the light catcher case is about as perfect as can be with the latest iteration. Overall the package on these new 300m C60s is pretty perfect. I like the improvements to the bracelet. It even tapers a little more than before. The last thing I think they could do with the bracelet is make female end links. I never had a problem with the male ones fitting on my 6.9" wrist. They curve pretty good. But, that would basically be total perfection. Eagerly awaiting my white dial version in 40mm later this month. I'd add the bracelet is a must. Just buy it separately so you can bypass the import duty to keep it under $800.. after using their frequent discount codes they have.

Nice review and nice watch! I like the simple and understated dial compared to some other dive-style watches. Prefer a no-date, but if it's going to have a date, I'd rather it be at 6:00 like this C60. Lume around the date frame would add a nice touch IMO, as would female end links. Any issues with the Sellita SW200-1? As I'm looking at a few other options at this price point that are equipped with a SW200, I've gone down the rabbit hole of reading about issues with the teeth on the ratchet wheel breaking off. It's kind of putting me off this movement, although it seems like it's a potential problem only when you hand-wind the crown. And besides, with probably millions of movements installed, what's the sample size of problems? Currently, I keep going back and forth between the CW, Davosa, and Nodus, all with Sellita, or an NTH with Miyota.

This is definitely an excellent release. It is hard to ask for more, but I am going to! I kind of wish they had more COSC options, even if it cost more. I know it makes it harder for others to justify the cost. That and/or something of an upgraded movement. After the accuracy of my Hamilton Khaki Aviation Day Date Auto for just under $1K list (I paid $650 new), it's a great watch with 80hr power reserve and it only gained 61 seconds total in the first 2 months of ownership. It's really been a great watch, and feels great. I'm sure the build quality/specs of the case/bracelet even better from what I can see and who can argue with a quick adjust clasp? Between Random Rob's comments on SW200 issues in a recent CW video, and the lack of power reserve, I find myself wanting more at that $1K+ price point. I know the SW330 with 56 hours is a more expensive movement so I don't know if that's a real option. It isn't quite the almost 70 hours that seems standard at the $1K+ range now a days, but at least it'd provide a full 2 days off wrist without having to reset it. Maybe we'll see more options for that in the next 2-3 years. As far as the design goes, I love all the color options on this CW (and lume/lumed beze), as well as the size options. Not everybody wants a small diver, and not everybody wants a big diver. People have a variety of wrist sizes (and proportional body sizes). Imagine that! Kudos to CW for the 38/40/42mm options. I'd lean toward the 42, but the 40 is a tempting size.

But then it wouldn’t have been Swiss, and their logo is half English, half Swiss flag, so never going to happen

I hated those spade hands on the old version. It's not bad but i find them a little boring to look at. There's no outstanding feature but maybe thats a blessing? Cheers...

That face on close up showed some Seiko like alignment issues in the bezel
@RichKovars
@RichKovars Жыл бұрын
Actually, I don't think it is misaligned. Which brings up my biggest gripe about the watch. The inner metal minute track doesn't turn and the bezel is 120 click. So the triangle can rest right between the markers. Either make it 60 clicks or design it so the whole thing turns.

@@RichKovars I hope it’s not an alignment issue, I have a black one that should be here tomorrow if DHL does their part

@@RichKovars happy to report you were correct and the alignment on my model is lined up perfectly.

Nice looking watch. A little bit pricey for that movement and that level of brand cache… See Steinhart…

You have a point, but, in my opinion, Steinhart don’t make any original watches, they’re all copies, don’t offer the same warranty either

In these slimmer watches they should have gone with the new SW300 with improved power reserve

I don’t think you can find better value than CW. I have one of these on the way and also have a C60 Pro 600 (black/black), a C63 Sealander GMT (white), and a C65 Dartmouth which is COSC certified.

You refer to this as an upgrade, but it's a new model. They they still make the C60 Trident Pro 600.

U can’t do without the trident, it’s a signature feature! Rolex has the chess queen, CW has the trident They’re founding principle is to not mark up more than 3x the cost to build, unlike a certain Swiss manufacturer who marks up 30x!

To answer the question put forward in the thumb: Nope. The C60 Trident Abyss sh21 is the best Christopher Ward timepiece - by a mile.
