yeh thats a dialed bike now. Awesome. Love the Stem! I was close to buying the Alpine Trail 7 and in some ways I wish I did. I got the Norco Sight A3 purely on Geo that I was after. I'm a Marin fan though, I got my son the RiftZone 2 29er and I own the Marin DSX1 along with the Norco and a Merida Big Trail (HCHT).

I have this same bike, bought it Oct 22, so had for about a year and a half now. LOVE IT! I simply dont make a lot of money and love biking and $3,000 was the max i could spend at the time. I put 3,000 miles on it in a year and a half. Mostly just had to replace tires since I ride so much, but Ive upgraded a few things recently and trimed it out with mostly orange and some green to go with the orange hits on th bike. Its a little heavy, but I see it as Im just getting extra excercise and I've done some long xc days and big long enduro climbs with long descents. Wish i could uploade some pics of it on here so you could see! Cheers buddy!

I can't get the Shimano deore drivetrain to shift good. I feel like the 12 speed stuff you really have to get precise. I'm planning on switching to 10 speed. That's what I have on my other bike and it shifts great.

It’s a bit particular when it comes to cable tension, so if that’s amiss it can be finicky. I find it to be super dialed when it’s setup right though. Love Shimano 12s.

I found replacing both inner cable and outer housing is needed to fix shifting.

Love the build! I run Shimano SLX on both of my current bikes and I totally agree, it's a great spec. Are there any other manufacturer refurbished sites like the PNW Cycled one? The clothing deals on that site are amazing.

I wish I knew more refurb sites like that, but i do find a ton of new takeoff bits on eBay as well as marketplace on Facebook. Those are the best deals, since it’s normally just an install mark or two. It’s gonna get those anyway!

So, how was this bike in its original condition. Stock? What's the point in purchasing a bike just to turn around and change so many parts?

It was pretty solid stock! A bit heavy, but still quite solid. I did a brief review on it stock that you can go see. I always mod the heck out of my bikes on my channel, just how it goes!

I sold my izzo and my Propain at the end of the year to up my fleet of cameras. The bikes were excellent, just my needs shifted.
