I love my analog Pinion. Lots of people hate grip shift, but I'm a big fan of that too. What's interesting is the grip shift doesn't actually have shift indexing, it just spins. The shifting actually happens in the Pinion gearbox itself. I have the Priority 600 all road bike and since it has a 32 tooth chairing and 28 tooth cog with it's 600% range, it can crawl up hills. I think I've only put it on the easiest gear a couple times and that allowed me to spin at a pretty high cadence and only go 3 or 4mph.

I’m really impressed Russ with your stamina, and then resting enough in a short period of time to be able to slow down and paint. Well done sir!

What a fantastic escapade Russ. Very interesting setup. Since we hunts hung one of your piece print in our staircase, this has a lot more significance to me. Always a fan.

I watch many of your videos often. This one will be watched often during the dark cold winter here in Wisconsin. The painting I'd like to see would be looking over your handlebars with the red and bags and a sweeping curve framed by the rock, trees and blue sky. Perhaps with one or two cycles heading up hill. Great footage, interesting bike (though I did not like the sound it makes). New country and a paint brush instead of a fishing pole but with chill riding all the same.

I did this climb on a Brompton from the Madremanya side earlier in the year. I felt little bit out of place but it is really nice ride and everyone was friendly (even the roadies 😂). The view from the top is beautiful and I’m pretty sure the espresso I bought from the cafe was only a quid 👍

A new Pinion will take a few hundred km to smooth out, but it should get noticeably smoother after a while, at least that's my personal experience.

Those sections of roadway that had a nearby steep drop off without guardrails kinda freaked me out.

Me too. Then thinking about it maybe if you slow down you will feel safer. Saves a fortune for the road building.

As ever, love the bike. But for over $5,500 dollars? Who’s world is this going to change? You can’t revolutionize transport via the upper middle class. They’re just not full of revolutionary zeal. The global south needs this kind of tech, not Jan in Zurich.
@BirdmanDeuce263 ай бұрын
They actually have their own, for quite some time now, in the myriad forms of cycle rickshaws. In the Philippines/Indonesia, they're called padyaks/becaks and take the form of sidecar cabs welded to bike frames, while in other parts of South Asia/Southeast Asia, the rickshaws will have the cargo space/passenger seats directly behind the rider

The global South has bikes, and capable ones, as a common mode of transport. They broadly can't afford a "everyone has a car" society. Reliable, simple, capable bikes like the Buffalo bike are more common in impoverished areas

I have a Co-Motion Americano with a Pinion P18 gearbox and a Gates belt drive. It also came with a noisy Industry Nine hub with a narrow spline since it only needs to accommodate a single rear sprocket. I replaced it with an Onyx Racing Products hub, with a sorague clutch. Silence reigns!
