Awesome video! Thanks for letting be apart of it! LASFIT really made a difference when driving country roads at night!

Mark! Dude... Excellent video. I have a 2015 Gen 5 Trail. You've convinced me. I have the LAPlusH4s in my 2010 Scion xD (daily) & I love them so far At 56 years old, they really help with the rain (and fog) at night. I drive Toyota. Peace!

Coming from someone who use to have an HID retrofit and now have morimoto led headlights. The LED output brightness is no were near the HID retrofit i had plus not to mention that cool looking blue cut off line.

Same here. The morimotos were nowhere near my XenonDepot HID, for the same price. Not sure it these Lasfits are different, but they are also twice the wattage and twice the heat output.

After having tried multiple LED brands including Lasfit I can say I would never consider wasting money on LED low beams for this style 4Runner headlights. You just can’t get a a good beam pattern for the passenger side, it’s either blotchy or narrow with little side illumination. HIDs are the way to go in these assemblies. You can actually see the difference in the driving lineup portion, the HIDs clearly have way more light hitting the ground vs the Lasfit.

How does the downrange illumination compare? I had the Xenon Depot HID kit on my 2016 Trail Premium, and loved them. The LC has LEDs as stock, and while brighter, they just don't seem to have as much throw. Not really comparable, as they are completely different housings. Worse, the horizontal cut-off with the LC leaves pitch black beyond that point in rolling hills. I switch on the Baja Design Squadron-R Pros just to see where I'm going! The HIDs in the 4Runner were much better for that type of terrain. Since you had both together to compare on the same vehicle, I thought you might have some thoughts.

So, downrange is hard for me to quantify for 2 reasons: 1) I haven't had a chance to get these out on straight/flat roads. 2) My lights are angled down a bit too much right now since my swing arms, gas can, hi-lift, and fridge are not weighing down the rear end at the moment. Our 4Runner is in "daily driver mode" right now. So, I need to do a follow up video on how the long range throw is once I get some time. I had pretty big ambitions for putting information in this video, but my wife's 40th birthday, sneaking her parents into town, then sneaking her brother into town, a promotion at work, my best friend's wedding, weather, and repairs to the 4Runner all hindered my plans. February was a ridiculously busy month for me. :)

@@TrailorSailYT Thanks for the reply. I was just curious, since I've seen comments on traditional round auxiliary driving lights having more throw vs the LED equivalent. Definitely understand life being busy. Fall is my favorite time to travel, and we have our second daughter's wedding in October. So much for planning much this year...

@MarkwithTrailorSailProduction How’s the Lasfit - LS pro series hold up now? Now that’s been two years and ran out of the 2 year warranty. Still goin strong so far? Also I would recommend get Morimoto - green dielectric grease to seal the gaps between the two connectors of the factory wire and led bulb. So the moisture will not get in and burned the bulb out.

lol is that Boerne lake? Stumbled upon this as my wifey just snagged an off-road and im disappointed by the fact that HIDs arent standard. My 06 TSX was standard with them and after 11 years im still on the same bulbs *knock on wood*.

Really eyeballing these after reading some reviews but still a little skeptical long term. I went to go look for your follow-up but seems like 10 months is still to short lol. Anyways, how are they holding up as of right now. Any complaints or things you noticed that aren't so good such as light quality fading/dimming, fans sounding weird, etc.

Terribly sorry about the lack of follow up. I am hoping to getting back into making videos again soon, but the day job has been brutal the past year. To sum things up: Still no complaints. Pattern is still the same. No noticeable fade - even under extreme temperatures. Honestly, I still feel like this is one of the simplest and cost effective upgrades for the 4Runners that don't already have LED Lighting.

HID gets over 250F , halogen over 700F, leds you’d be hard pressed to see temps over 300F on any part of it.

Led bulbs like Lasfit - LA plus gets 96 degrees Fahrenheit, LC ZOMUS IS 124 degrees Fahrenheit, and LD plus switchback is 89 degrees Fahrenheit.

The problem with LED bulbs in 4Runner housings is they just won’t hold up. Do to the heat especially down here in Texas heat. If they would make some type of heat pipe or remote head exchanger,, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
@crs1474

Not sure about that. I’ve had LED bulbs in my stock projector housing which is inside a dust cover all through the lower western states (AZ, NM, TX, LA) for nearly 3 years and they’ve held up pretty well.

Projector are the idea for better focus light output. If u prefer reflector headlights, with the same oem or aftermarket bulbs. They are more intense.

@@Whyismytacoblue666 the best factory projector is the H11. Like Toyota Tacoma, Toyota 4Runner, Scion xB2/2.5, Toyota Camry, Toyota Sienna. H11 size halogen projector are true best oem projector. Great beam pattern for oem. Maybe ur headlights was oxidized.

@@Whyismytacoblue666 every vehicles with different design and style and size of the projector is different. I never own any of those. But with sticking with Toyota and Scion with the same H11 projector, they are the best for factory. If u get ur hands on 5th gen 4Runner, u will be surprised how much better these H11 projector headlights is.
