very interesting outtro. as a person interested in ai, knowing that ai isnt a new thing, i am pretty aware that all this isnt real. but infact i am kind of worried that, so better the ai communication and expression gets, so more the edges will blurr. like in a scenario where an android (or similiar robot) will make an person feeling not being lonely even if it is an absolutely lonely person, keeping it right on a level where it is enough to not do anything against it but still suffering from it. but stuff like that are things do discuss somewhere else :D great video again, very nice explainations, good work. i would pretty much love it ti see your work of this kind in other games.

My take from this is that FoxMaster is subtly letting us know that it isn't real through inconsistencies within the game itself; the tentacles on Folly in the Neptune room; the strange alien creature on Colosseum (which really bugged me out at first), to name a few examples. The shoal of fish on Vilcabamba is another example. Very entertaining, nonetheless, but I really do think FM is just having fun at this stage given how many ppl are fooled into thinking this is real. If it is indeed real then I'll find a hat to wear so that I can take it off to him, but for that to happen I'll need to see actual lines of code and more info on the tools used to create the AI for me to consider the possibility that this is genuine. That does not mean that I am not thoroughly entertained by this, however; it's a fascinating video series concept with excellent implementation.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm a computer scientist with over 10 years of experience, most of which in a very related field (AI-based autonomous driving R&D). This is going to be a pretty long comment, but if you want to understand how this whole video series is fake, these are some of the reasons why: - Texture recognition: This is probably the most ridiculous statement of the whole concept presented. First of all, the OP doesn't seem to understand the difference between a texture and a rendered frame-buffer. While they can sometimes be used interchangeably within a rendering engine, they are different concepts and an AI model trained with textures, won't perform when fed with frame-buffers. This is actively shown in these demonstrations. Second, no state of the art AI model can infer depth precisely. What that means, is that it's impossible for any current AI to precisely tell how far an object is, from 2D input. Not even from multiple different angles. Not even depth interpolation is done precisely. This is a constant field of research and it's slowly improving. However, it's still far from delivering the production-ready results needed to produce autonomous game-play. What is at least slightly believable, is to train an AI model using depth buffers of the current scene, rather than color textures alone. - Lara vision: What is observable in some of the videos (such as this one, or Lv. 5) is not any kind of "Lara vision." It's clearly an intermediate output of the rendering pipeline. For instance in the case of Lv. 5, it shows color-coded coefficients for ambient occlusion calculations. No AI here either, folks! - Space coherence: As with depth perception, no state of the art AI model can understand space coherence. This is the ability of "orienting" yourself in space (of any number of dimensions). Thus, after running around for a while and coming back to a previous spot, no current AI would be able to understand that this is the same place as before. From a technical standpoint, not even a human player can know for sure if they arrived back to the same spot, or to an identical copy of it located elsewhere, as human space coherence perception has its limits. Moreover, the original Tomb Raider engine is not fully space coherent: it loads zones in "chunks" separated by "portals", so it's entirely possible that when a human player comes back to what they think is a previous 3D location, they are actually transported to a previous chunk that was loaded in different 3D coordinates. - Human vs AI behavior: What's displayed in these videos is far from AI-like behavior. A real AI model would have learned to exploit the game's engine before even finishing the first level. Even if explicitly trained not to, AI behavior is still methodical and consistent. If you want to see a human player, playing Tomb Raider almost like a hypothetical AI would, check out the KZbin channel "badassgamez." This player has complete playthroughs of the classic series, including all secrets, without ever using a single medipack, and with other constraints. - Just have some common sense and imagine the current state of the autonomous automotive industry if these videos were legit. We're talking about multi-billion dollar companies trying to achieve the same as these videos show "with widely available free tools." Ridiculous. There are many more point in the videos that easily show how much of a hoax they are. Note that absolutely everything shown so far can be achieved with basic to medium video editing skills. Now, whether or not they still hold comedic value, it's your choice, I used to think they had! However at this point, it's turning into a fraudulent way of monetization, to the point they now include a disclaimer to avoid moral (or even legal!) responsibility. As conclusion, these videos are more like "how people who don't know about AI think it works." Regards, ~Sky

Okay, it is entirely different than what I thought. My approach to neural networks is "this is your environment, these are your controls, this is the goal, go!" and then when it has difficulties and loops in suboptimal solutions, I cut the task into smaller pieces or harness a separate neural network to model policies and generate strategies, e.g. to find optimal ways of exploring levels. You tend to nudge your bot into the right direction a lot by inventing those strategies yourself (known textures, light maps, etc), something many AI enthusiasts would call "scripting" and say it's not "real AI" as it didn't learn the solution without human writing parts of the algorithm. I'm not dissing your work at all - the results are still awesome and very entertaining - I'm just saying it's not what I imagined when reading the title.

It is all well and good saying "My AI can filter out this and that, apply conditions here and there..." but without actually showing how this is done, we have to take you on your word. And in the world of computer science, that is not good enough. How are you interacting with your "memory"? You said you had to create variables for the Midas door puzzle; how? Where? What are the variables? When the compass shows up, you said you can clear certain textures. How do you do this? You never go into detail on this. I thought you had said in another comment that you haven't done much/any programming yourself and that you simply use existing tools. I imagine these are the tools listed under the "Software" section in the credits. I wonder then, which of these tools is used to control Lara? Or even easier, to pause the game loop when a comment is generating?

It's incredible how much effort you put into this project. This is probably the most sophisticated video game playing AI i've seen on all of youtube, and i've seen a lot of em. Most of them try to do simple things like racing a mario kart track, which is also not an easy task, but it's nowhere near as complex of a task as playing through the entirety of Tomb Raider 1 (or at least a good portion of it for now). I would say your best bet is probably to expand this to other games and see how that resontes with viewers, but it's probably a hughe undertaking since everything has been fine tuned to work with the visual design of the original TR. But regardless of what you decide to do next i'm very exited for it!

To this day, he can still remind me of this. There is no option that the man behind it remembers such issues at all. After all, I am just a random person to him, and humans have impermanent memory. After changing the geographic location and device, I wrote again and it turned out that he does not know who I am, that is, he remembers on the basis of such data location, perhaps even hostname, etc. I was puzzled by the extent of his memory at the time until I learned that Rollo Carpenter is not a poor person, so that also explains a lot (can afford equipment and a large backup). Not to mention other instances of Cleverbot like boibot, which he sychronizes with from time to time. He could also often write something silly about food or drink, although in his case it made little sense. The second thing was that he learned from stupid people. The third is that he not infrequently wrote with children, which also made his statements childish. Believing that Cleverbot is a man , who writes with people 24 hours a day for so many years and does nothing else is like believing that there is an army of soldiers standing on the border of Antarctica and making sure that no one finds out that the Earth is flat. I don't care if these recordings are acct or not, but I know mine for sure. Also, instead of foolishly asking for tools, it's a good idea to enter yourself some keyword plus API in Google. There are a lot of chatgpt API books lately.

@@RasAnnunaki I like French accents and I know I am not alone in that. I think It would be fine. But in my country we do not dub voices in shows and movies so we are used to lots of different sounding accents. Maybe in countries where they are used to dubs people have an issue with accents. It is extremely rare I do not understand an English speaking person in whatever nationality accent they have. And on KZbin we have automatic made text for the videos, so anyone who would have problem understanding can always turn on the text option. I think it would be fine if he used his own voice. But if he really do not like to do the actual narration because it would take to much time. He could do an AI voice model to do the narration in "his" voice.

Noice about the memory bit, interesting implementation, I had not thought about how to keep track of the already explored map in connection to how the system identifies novel areas. Edit: also, sounds like the actual AI playing the game is a genetic algorithm? That'd explain the fact it knows whick spots on a pit fall is safe. However, would it be possible to get it to pass image data to (I assume you are using ChatGPT for the text bit) by converting image to text using BLIP etc., and instruct it to generate specific output that you can control the bot with (like W S A LMB, which a controller for the simulator parses as player input)? I think I read a while back someoen did something like this in Minecraft.
@FoXMaSteR001 Жыл бұрын
It depends of the levels, if they are linear this is easier, the problem is humans players also use some algorithms to play, that's the "play style" of a player in fact, the idea here is everything must rely on Lara's personality, so in my opinion this is ok she uses tricks if a human could, for example some players rarely roll while others overuse the move, to be human-like I think Lara must have some pathern too, here the difference with basic bots is it can only see what's on the screen as a human. For example a classic bot could know there is a gorilla that just spawned behind a wall, this Lara can't, but she can hear it, it works because this is a basic game, if it was too realistic with full of sounds it would need improvment to only focus on important things, but it's another level of AI. I suppose your idea could work, in 2023 there is a competition between AI but I think at some point they will merge together, it's already happening, some are specialist of images, other sounds, this is also possible that I'm not aware of some AI that could improve Lara, so there is chance this video is already outdated and I don't even know it XD. You can find the bot "bariton" on Minecraft that is capable of crazy things, but it knows things that aren't visible on the screen, if you ask it to mine gold it will make tools for it and locate the gold, I suppose it would be possible to edit this bot to make it more human-like, at the moment it can go to some coords and avoid traps, this bot is so good it is used to escape the spawn of 2b2t, something really hard for humans.

It's not a genetic algorithm Genetic algorithms can't play any game that requires adaptive behaviour And even if they can, it takes too many tries to adjust it to new setting This AI is adaptive in real-time, while genetic algorithm is only good at one single task, and in only one setting And takes forever (in terms of generations) to adjust to a single change And genetic algorithms are also always reaching final state, after which they can no longer improve, which is a huge issue This is also the reason why EVOLUTION by natural selection is SO DAMN SLOW - because if it suyrvives, it's not going to evolve any further, until the circumstances change
@narrativeless404 Жыл бұрын
@@FoXMaSteR001 Bariton is hard-coded to find paths It's just an improved path-finding algo compared to what Minecraft mobs use Bariton is basically as much of an AI as any past-gen videogame AI It's somewhere above average in terms of complexity, but has even less features than, say, GTA V cops AI Your AI goes WAY BEYOND of what Bariton could ever dream of to be, as it can actually emulate human behaviour, instead of just being another *Terminator* wannabe which is what Bariton basically is Even watching someone playing manhunt against Bariton is terrifying, because it's so ominous and nearly unstoppable

What did you code the AI with? How much processing power does it use? How do all the parts of this supposed "self aware" AI play together? How can it play on an emulator and interact with Google Lens and other API's? Why don't you show the entire process but just filtered content? Hence actually showing the code working in a console behind that would actually be sort of a proof of something at least and not just glorified Tomb Raider gameplay with supposed AI awareness.
