Remember children, PVC and compressed air can be dangerous. It is rated for max 120psi however it can explode if there are any cracks, etc that make it weak. PVC also can be degraded by UV light and other condition that can impact its pressure rating. PVC shatters into small pieces and plastic pieces can be difficult to impossible to find on X-rays. There is a reason OSHA doesn't permit PVC to be used for compressed air applications. Not saying you should not do this with PVC, you just need to be aware of the risks and him saying in this video "can hold a lot of pressure safely" can be a bit misleading. Edit: speaking from experience. Made a potato cannon using compressed air and PVC. Only used 60 psi and one day it exploded while pressuring it. Had we been standing next to it instead of a bit away using a regulator to fill it, we could have been seriously hurt.
@zumbazumba19 ай бұрын
Exactly use galvanized water pipe ,with its 4mm wall thickness it can hold a burst pressure of500 bar's ,something that you will never reach without pcp air rifle compressor .And even then that poor sprinkler valve will burst way before you ever reach that pressure.
@coltonkoepp6559 ай бұрын

Schedule 80 PVC has a pressure rating of 210 psi to 1230 psi, depending on pipe size, and temperature. At 73°F the pressures are as follows: 2" = 400 psi. 3" = 370 psi Know your material

Loving the TKOR videos lately.. big fan As a master plumber since 99' that's worked with PVC since 1991 I can guarantee you that little drop of primer wasn't going to ruin the seal 😂 there's some of the exact same solvents in the glue. Acetone, tetrahydrofuran, cyclohexanone... The only thing different about the glue is that it also contains pvc resin and silica. Keep up the awesome new videos.. informative and entertaining 👌 TKOR like the old days. 👍 ❤ you guys

I'm getting really emotional. I didn't think Grant's style of content would return; it's really great to see the original type of video come back! When the boring clickbait videos started, it felt like the channel owners were disrespecting Grant's legacy, a man I looked up to and hope to emulate. Returning to backyard science and DIY faux-weaponry really takes me back. I can't wait to see where this goes.

I must have missed the original but this is awesome. I like how you are revisiting Grant’s past projects and in this case improving upon it. I respect that. About the competition, I think it was a bit one sided but a win is a win. This is just me but I think the loser should run a mile while screaming let the random happen while giving out free merch. Hey Jarom, very good your taking control as the host for the channel, from my two cents, could you bring back the old logo, unlike the new, dull logo, the old one had character with the crown and caution triangle. It's like logos are becoming too simplified these days. If you could try some b roll shots as well that would be awesome. Have a great day! :D

I like the way the channel is now going 🤩. Jarom brings back the old TKOR energy. I've always thought grant as a man who's had some on spot ideas. Like the hairclip crossbow for example. I'm pretty sure that grant saw a hairclip on the dressing table and thought,"why don't I make a crossbow out of it?" Ha Ha. And thus the name 'THE KING OF RANDOM'! And I see the same spirit within you Jarom. So best of luck in your future endeavours!

I've heard that ABS piping is usually safer for pneumatics and higher air pressure (between 100 to 500 psi) than PVC, might be something worth while to think about in future projects maybe... I've never tried it myself and I'm by no means at all a professional, but it would be interesting to see some experiments with ABS and PVC gas pressure rating and handling differences!

Does this qualify as a compression cannon? I've checked laws in my country (Namibia) and a combustion cannon (like a potato gun) is illegal. But this does not use an explosive (like alcohol (hairspray, etc.)), so hopefully I can legally build this thing. Looks quite deadly though.
@Ekipsogel9 ай бұрын
This uses high pressure from a pump, not anything explosive or burning, so it shouldn’t be considered a “combustion cannon”.
