Upgrading my 2017 Model S to MCU2

My control unit has started to bubble, so I am thinking to upgrade to MCU2 (since the cost of the MCU2 upgrade, which replaces both the center display and control unit, is only slightly more than replacing only the control unit). How many working cameras does sentry mode now have? 3 rear facing and 2 front facing? Did it have sentry mode before as well?

I paid about 2k in 2022. I think it’s cheaper now.

@@dreamkiss4ujust go into the service center and get a price for the MCU 2 upgrade. Then schedule a day for install. $1500.00 for me in Arizona that was 3 years ago. No regrets, much faster response. I have the 2015 P85D as well. You will loose radio.. small price to pay..

@alanl3511 thank you so much I found it, my only question would be is, I seen others use the same screen the user upgraded the parts inside and it cost them cheaper doing it that way but I wonder why tesla don't offer that and has to charge you to buy the full new screen and everything. Second would be I hope I don't lose my free internet connectivity for life and free supercharge for life by upgrading that?... if anyone knows let me know.

Does Sentry mode work, and does it work through the Tesla App? Also can you see the tire pressure from the app? Thank you in advance!

Sentry Mode works although you cannot view cameras through the app. Yes to tire pressure.

I scheduled it about a week in advance; didn't lose my free premium connectivity.

Yes, I can view dashcam and sentry mode videos now.

Unfortunately not. Not sure why! Hopefully will be updated with software at some point.

I have a 2018 Model S 100d. I don't see much difference (any actually) between mine and your MCU2.
