In this video I'll upgrade my boat prop and talk a little about the process and my thoughts. Enjoy! :-)

It's really heart warming to see the quality time you spend with your daughter. That will really pay off for the both of you later in life. Sorry don't know enough about boats to add. Have a great day and God Bless

watching this video brought back some fond memories of my youth. dad had a sea ray with a 135 evinrude. if we went to lake powell, he had one set of props, and if we went to the higher elevation lakes, he had another set. thanks for sharing, Have a great day!

Love the Jon boats. I have a 14'/9.9hp and love it. We're going to the TX coast in a few weeks and I plan on taking it and catching some nice fish. Looks like u have a beautiful place to hang out at.

Key, cotter pin, whatever it takes.. You increased top end 50% with a prop change, you should be pumped! I'm going 3 blade on Minn kota, won't be as significant increase but will improve speed, no doubt.

Aye, I stand corrected, it's a Shear pin, and with good reason! Just got my kipawa 3 blade, installing tomorrow on canoe

Good video. I had a Sears gamefisher with a very old Evinrude 9.9 on it.. I never worked on it much, but it had a 3 blade prop and it ran smooth and fast.

I'd like a bigger motor, but the max for this boat is 6hp. I'd like a 25!
@Lunchman.d8 жыл бұрын
Look into what is the max motor weight your boat can handle.. because the new outboards are getting lighter especially the 2 strokes. Might be able to find a new motor that weighs the same as your 6hp, but has more power

jiujitsu2000 My old gamefisher was over loaded with the 9.9, and it floated a little low.. but it was only for fun to see what we could get out of it you know? Might not want to risk it with your daughter and dog on board. Me and my buddy were taking a chance Hahaa

Actually, the 3 bladed prop is initially putting a bigger load on your engine. This is a minor factor reflected by your observations on the accelleration and torque. I do believe that a 3 bladed prop is a better balanced prop and will lessen vibration to the engine. That will reduce internal wear and tear on your engine. That's from a QMC, USCG and your a Squid. Atta sailor! 3 fin prop (not some plastic/tin 2 fin ??!!). You know prop angle results in torque, and velocity. Hope you get the right angle and torque from the size of your engine (without underpowering the prop, engine too weak for a fast prop). Before installing, (like balancing/sharpening your lawn mower blade), make sure that it is truly balanced (albeit they MIGHT have done this - with drill holes on the inner prop casting). If no drilled balancing holes, I would make sure that it is truly balanced, and you do the balancing drill holes. Noisy exhaust little beast ....

So if you have the other prop in the boat, and overturn, both props are gone ... land's sake that is a noisy engine, especially on an aluminum boat. You'll have to go to a spot, then sit for 8 hours, before all the fish come back into the area.

I wish I could find a new prop for my old golden jet. the trolling motor moves the boat faster.
