I just had an idea for another train layout: have a dual train heist with two trains travelling next to each other (or a train and one of those hand cranked carts), where the trains move on two separate tracks but are timed to travel next to each other for a section of the tracks, with little cowboys shooting at each other :)

I didn’t notice it the first time but I really like that you put the church on that pillar that looks a little too small for the building and the townspeople have to walk across those narrow boards to get to it. Nobody in their right mind would have built a church in a place like that in real life, but it kind of implies a faith that these people deliberately built their church in such a perilous place. Excellent detail, even if that wasn’t your intention.

I like the idea that they built the church there as a literal sanctuary from whatever horrors lurk in the desert. When something unspeakable comes prowling through, the townsfolk can take refuge in the church and pull up the boards connecting it to the rest of the town so the monsters can't reach them.

Absolutely fantibbillytastic. Now, to add a tiny bit of menace to the scene, try placing a giant scorpion somewhere above the track as if it were ready to pounce. Maybe a giant centipede half buried in the earth next to the track. Then there is the humor aspect of a pair of figures outfitted as the sheriff and deputy from 'Blazing Saddles" approaching the town as an homage to Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder.

If you have a problem with the train always stopping at certain spots, you need to clean the tracks. You can do this by using one of those old school erasers that have a tiny bit of grit in them. This will remove the oxidation from the track, and your train will run good again. You can also use steel wool to lean off the oxidation but the steel wool will likely leave a mess behind that you 2ill definitely want to vacuum off as it can really play havoc with the electrical parts of the engine. There are also dedicated cleaners sold in most train hobby stores. But those blue abrasive erasers that were meant for removing ink, Are the best for cleaning the tracks. Sometimes you also need to clean the wheels of the engine as well but just keep in mind that the blue erasers also leave grit behind so a vacuum is always best to keep it under control. I love this diorama and I'm glad you kept it and are updating it! Keep up the fantastic work!

I think it would be great to see all of your Wild Imaginary West build combined together to show the scale of your project so far. For example, you could lay all the town buildings out together to form the centre of the universe, off in the distance you could have this canyon (the distance being the reason the scale is smaller relative to the other dioramas), alongside the town could be the river where the ferry boats are sailing over the huge monsters, and on the far side of the river could be the wilderness builds. Maybe a video idea for the new year perhaps? (Just be careful if you do decide to try this and lay them all out together please don't break any).

I love that layout! I do have one little suggestion. Do you think you could put both engines on the front? This might make it a little more realistic than having a locomotive on the back. Doubleheaders were very common in the days of steam. You wouldn’t see steam locomotives running mirrored on both ends of the train.
