I want to thank you for sharing other crafter's works with us, especially those with YT channels. As you probably know, youtube algorhytm always suggests same people again, again and again (or it suggests those "entertaining" crafters like nerdforge) so its kinda hard to find new good channels sometimes. Thanks a lot!

Awesome build. Awesome story. And awesome video. Here's a small rp from me to offer flavor. "People from the cities always say that the train is the best way to travel. Well, I don't know what you east coasters know about trains but we in the west know them for what they truly are. Monster baits on tracks. Those things cause so much noise and movements monsters will move to attack a train from miles around. Even those big fancy guns of theirs ain't going to do squat when a giant-sized sandworm or ant lion destroys the tracks. Or the train itself!" "My brother was a coal miner. He witnessed half a train get swallowed by a sinkhole caused by one of those big nasties. Took two days to repair the tracks. Took bloody two months until a replacement train arrived." "There is a reason why they need those fancy supply carts with extra supplies, it is to repair the tracks every time a monster damages them. And guess what happens when they drive back to the east coast after finishing repairing the tracks all the way here? The exact same thing. Time and again. Rinse and repeat. All for the fat cats greasing their pockets with the oil and blood of trains and people." -From an interview with a local monster hunter in Colorado

Having had to suture many a crafter's finger, I confirm what Boylei said about using a sharp new blade on utility knifes and such. Not only do you need less force and have thus more control but should you go over, the cut will be nice and defined, easily made good with a few stitches. On the other hand, a dull blade will have you put more force and when the accident happen you are putting more force on a blade that will cut as much as rip into you skin and flesh. These wounds are much more painful, take longer to heal and, even if i'm careful and delicate, will leave a nasty scar.

I love how that train turned out! Appling the new paint with a sponge really gave the new colors a lot of texture/dimension. I've seen a similar effect done by "dabbing" with a short, stubby brush, but I now want to try the sponging techique. Looking forward to seeing the new WIW layout for this wicked cool train. I know however cool I think it'll be, you will make it ten times better. Keep on keeping on!!

It's just a guess, but I imagine there are many of us Model Railroaders that keep tabs on your channel just hoping you will eventually make the leap into the hobby in earnest!! Thanks for providing inspiration to all modelers! ~Dennis at the OC&RG

You should make some kind of train engine/mech that places train tracks down for a new railway. May or may not get attached by some kind of beast that doesn't want more railroads 👍 great video!

You are the man. It has never occurred to me to put tape over old blades like that. I used razor blades at work & have found old ones the hard way when I've had to find something I threw in the trash. That tip alone is AWESOME!!! Also, the pics you shared of your followers' creations were all fantastic looking. A lot of creative people out there. On the layout, I'm really looking forward to see what you do with your amazing looking new train set. With the circle, I wondered if it was going to be some kind of prison/holding spot for dangerous cryptids with the train circling for extra protection. LOL

Probably disappeared in the comments somewhere on a previous build, but I had offered the idea for a variant of this. Glad to see you had come to the same thought set. My older comment was it was an old confederate train the Pinkertons ended up with. After "tactically acquiring" it from it's previous owners.

In real life we had the silk trains. Fast engines with priority routing and the only passengers being armed guards to protect the precious silk cargo. Insurance was that expensive that getting it to the mills meant speed was king. Seeing these armed cars brings that to mind for me.

Definitely tape your blades before throwing them away, or place them in a hard container! Stops them from potentially ripping open your garbage bags, or worst case scenario, accidentally cutting yourself 😅 I had a job cleaning offices in uni and when emptying a bin at an architectural firm, the bottom of the bag tore open from all the old blades someone dumped in it. I didn't know and tried to stop it spilling, wasn't wearing gloves either so sliced up my fingers pretty good!

This is awesome. Just as an idea, I’ve seen the Big Boy locomotives referred to as ‘the train that conquered the Rockies.’ If the railroads are having so much trouble, maybe a massive, heavily armed and armored war train is just what they need. It’s a little anachronistic, but I think it’d be cool.
