O my God 😮 the crossing looks a little different. But it's nice 😎👌👍

What crossing controller do you use with this crossing or is this a AC/DC circuit track?
@RailroadSignsandSignalsАй бұрын
This operates on a PMD-2.

That's nice the crossing got LED's lights now and LED gate lights
@RailroadSignsandSignals2 ай бұрын
It is best not to mix the two either. When the main lights are LED as well as the gate lights it causes way less issues.

did you upgrade main back light?

Yes. And apologies for not showing that but I did not have a lot of time to do the LED changeout and could not show every light being changed out either. It was about 11:00-11:30pm when I was working on these.

Great video man and question what does the pedestrian gate use for if people are only gonna go left off of that path is that gate gonna be part of the future second crossing?
@Isaactheviolinistandviolist2 ай бұрын
And also another question why does the gate go so slow lowering
@RailroadSignsandSignals2 ай бұрын
The pedestrian gate was put there as I had the resources to do so. Works well with the other equipment on this particular setup too. There is no future second crossing planned at the moment, just that the pedestrian gate will be operating off a different flasher and crossing control system than the other two. As for how it will operate once said and done, I will give an update video then.
@RailroadSignsandSignals2 ай бұрын
That problem has already been addressed and will be resolved in the next video. These videos were actually filmed about a month prior to posting and everything is fixed and operating properly now.

Gotta love the brand new LEDs with diodes that are ALREADY DEAD. Tell the person who made that decision to put incandescents back in.
@RailroadSignsandSignalsАй бұрын
Incandescent lights won’t work with the new crossing controller going into the relay house. Some of the incandescent lenses and especially the mirrors were in worse shape than the LED modules that were installed. The LED inserts were by no means new and were well used previously.
@carolinarailfanningАй бұрын
the next best thing would probably have been ball LEDs then because they look the most natural, the worst I have to say are dotted LEDs
@RailroadSignsandSignalsАй бұрын
I don’t have a choice in what I use. New LED inserts will cost around $1,200 for a full set. As for looks that is the least of my concern. Whatever passes the requirements will do.
@carolinarailfanningАй бұрын
yea it just sucks that people who don't work with the equipment make the decisions.
@RailroadSignsandSignalsАй бұрын
Here I actually do make the decisions on what goes on with the signals as well as own and maintain all the equipment featured. It all comes down to cost, efficiency as well as safety. All the equipment I have was acquired through eBay, railroad contractors and signal maintainers. Unfortunately this means that what I get I have to make the best use out of it and maintain it well to make them last.
@Decorsclocks2 ай бұрын
Those crossings have been ruined. Signals look so much better with incandescent
@RailroadSignsandSignalsАй бұрын
I agree but I do not like to mix both LED and incandescent main lights. The new unit that will control the crossings will operate better with the LEDs for the main crossing. The side crossing will still remain incandescent and relay driven.
@thepokemonguy996Ай бұрын
@@RailroadSignsandSignalshonestly it’s the same with the old mechanical bells. Like Ik it’s probably more efficient to have the e bells but the m bells sound too good
