Hello everyone Then follow the video guide at some point when you try to do the installation you see that the installation of the system gives an error that the processor is not compatible to solve this problem follow these steps and then follow the installation again of the system should go bye to all EDIT THE WINDOWS LOG in this way: Click the Start button, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK Locate the Computer \ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ Setup \ MoSetup subkey it can be found either by copying the address in the search box, or by opening the folders HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SYSTEM> Setup> MoSetup in sequence In the right panel click with the right mouse button and select New> DWORD (32-bit) value Name the new value as AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU Double-click on the new value created and type 1 in the Value Data field, then click Ok and close the register Thanks anyway to everyone

Yea, the problem is definitely me and not the machine lol. I am just rough with things, always tossing it around, bringing it in and out of the garage. Underneath cars during oil changes. Dog doesn't help either :D

Ill see if I have any luck with downloading the .iso from linux and installing it that way else yeah, way back machine to try and get an older version. I am not sure I should sacrifice my surface pro 5 after Windows 11 killing my surface pro 7 but why not for science right? You would think they want more people going on and on about how great windows 11 is instead they are adding in reg checks in the sofware in which I am wondering if we just need to create our own windows 11 installation image to get around it.

Try Downloading ISO Image from MS Site, Nowadays you get Mutli Options ( For All Versions and Language size is 5 to 7 GB ), Step 1: Ms win 10 is already in GPT format you can verify it again Step 2 : UEFI is already enabled on Surface Pro , you can verify it too Step 3, Then right click on ISO image and click on "Mount", Now you can see another Virtual Drive which has the Setup Files, Right click Setup and Run as Administrator, Let the Process continue... Step 4: Important : The Windows 11 install wizard begins by asking you to choose the language, time, and currency format, and then the keyboard or input method you’d like to use. Ignore this for the moment. Instead, simultaneously press the Shift + F10 keys on your keyboard to open Command Prompt. This step is important, because if you would’ve continued the setup process normally, it would have eventually told you that “This PC can’t run Windows 11” because “This PC doesn’t meet the minimum requirements to install this version of Windows.” After pressing Shift + F10, the Windows 11 setup process launches Command Prompt. In its window, type and execute the following commands one after the other, according to your needs: reg add HKLM\System\Setup\LabConfig /v BypassTPMCheck /t reg_dword /d 1 reg add HKLM\System\Setup\LabConfig /v BypassSecureBootCheck /t reg_dword /d 1 reg add HKLM\System\Setup\LabConfig /v BypassRAMCheck /t reg_dword /d 1 Then Close this CMD windows and continue , you will not be getting blocked and recent updates works fine too. Tested on 10 plus Surface Pros and they all work great, Choose accordingly or you can use all 3, for 1796 only Processor is bottleneck ( However in reality it works much faster than Win 10 Pro, The only caveat is , it gets little hotter , If you are in hot and humid environment, be careful, otherwise everything works good, just

How is the battery life on the Surface Pro5 after the upgrade? I was seeing comments by some W11 seems to use the battery a lot faster and they went back to W10. Currently, I have just bought a secondhand SP5 but am reluctant to upgrade it to W11 if it drains the battery. I am getting 5 hours of on-screen time. Mine is an Intel i5 processor with 8Gb RAM and 256HD. Perhaps some viewers can comment please on the result of W10->W11: 1. Battery Life of Surface Pro5 before and after the upgrade? 2. Speed of the machine? 3. HD space before and after the upgrade? 4. Do all Apps work?

What did you do different that it actually downloaded on the system instead of the USB?

At 3:08 you can choose the option to download an .iso and burn it to a disk but since most people find the USB method easier I did not include that in the video.

I upgraded my surface pro 5 to windows 11 and now my surface won’t recognize the charger anymore and the battery run off juice i uninstalled and reinstalled battery drive still won’t do it. I also update the firmware still didn’t recognize it and now it won’t turn on anymore I left the surface charging over night but no luck. The light on the charger steady white. It was working fine before the upgrade. Any solution?

I have not run into that issue AFTER the upgrade, but I did have that issue prior while still on Windows 10. It resolved itself, not sure what the problem was. I would try cleaning the electrical contacts on both the machine side and the charging cable plug.

That happens to my Surface Pro 5 every month or so... i run it with windows 10 and handle it very gently. Cleaning doesn´t help, i just have to wait for it to start recognizing the charger again. Light is always on, the charger is able to charge the Surface of a friend. If anybody knows a trick to fix this issue, i´d be more than grateful, since i need my Surface to work...

Its a known problem with Surface Pro , I have same for 1796 Model which is SPro 5, This is not Windows 11 problems, Surface Pro 4,5,6,7 suffers from 10 Ghost Fingers too, The whole lineup of Surface Pro is not worth, I conclude after using them for 6 years. Try redownloading the Surface Recovery Image from MS site, you would need USB 16 GB and Do a clean install Windows 10, then perform update, I did the same and since 2 years i haven't seen the problem of Adapter or even Surface Hub v1 not being recognized, however nowadays despite all updates, whenever I plug in the Surface Dock v1, It says USB device is not recognized, I tried upgrading the Dock Firmware too, that doesn't help, however charging, Dock ports all work but that error notification remains. Hope this helps.

only for installation. after it installs and you boot into 11 you can remove by ejecting in file browser then physically remove.
