In the kit they sent, was one of the bolts' reverse thread, so it would not come loose? McMaster-Carr sales them. They have all kind of specialty items and I have been using them for several years. It might be something to look into if you have trouble with keeping them tight. Looks great.

All the bolts that came in the kit were right hand thread. I don't know if something is different with my planter or what, but they were just too short. To be honest, I was expecting something a little better than a cut off bolt! Lol Thanks for stopping by!!

i have a 7100 jd planter and i am thinking about doing the same thing . plus i was going to go with the yetter openers. Look forward to seeing if it makes a difference. I always liked the older stuff. it works. simple is better

I agree! Simple is better. I hope it works out. May not have been necessary, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. The old planter has done a great job for me. Haven't done any no-till with it yet, but I think it will get the job done. Thanks for watching!!

The ones that came with the kit are too short. So don't buy the kit. I think I used 4 in and cut the head off. Maybe 3 1/2 , but 4inch will work. Thanks!!
