Not as bad as you would imagine. A 6466 is still a "smaller" size turbo compared to what a lot of other cars are running. The Gen 2 makes 20% more power than the Gen 1. I know the compressor wheel design was improved and changed for more efficiency. I'm not certain if the turbine wheel design was changed. I would imagine so. That being said, it's quite possible a gen 2 will have better spool characteristics than a gen 1 all else being the same.

Good question. I think it’ll spool pretty good all things considered, plus being a drag car we rely on launch control that builds up boost before the race.

@SPTuning I'm a DSM guy myself but have owned several Honda's over the years and love them as well. People have been using 6466 turbos on 1.8/2.0L engines for 2 decades on street cars. I'm sure that turbo will spool just fine. It would be cool to see a data log overlaying the response of the old turbo vs newer one though
