Great video guys, so strange seeing the job from the customer’s perspective. How frustrating it was with the inverter, but it was a relief when we found the melt down at the back when we pulled it out. Enjoy the lithium game changer!

400Ah of lithium is fantastic - basically double the usable capacity of the usual 4x110Ah lead acid. I'm am pleased you finally yeeted your old inverter. Luna Betty's old inverter had a really noisy fan, so it was good riddance to that when we upgraded to a bigger 3kW unit (very similar to your new one). I am saving my pennies for some lithium and I'll be sure to give Phil & Co. a call when I'm ready.

Nice video guys. About your water issue maybe you could invest in a couple of 20 L water container. And keep it as an emergency water supply should you run out instead of having to lug a bag of 1 and 2 L bottles out to the water point. Just put your full water container on you trolley. And cart it back to your boat in a similar way to how you lug your Elsan cassettes.

Guys, as a lithium user for the last year, I want to give you an important tip: don't let the batteries stay above 85% for too long. Once a month or so you'll want to charge them up to 100% in order to synchronise the BMV712 monitor, but for the rest of the time keep them below 85%, and maybe even below 80%. If you avoid over stressing them, you will extend their lifespan from maybe five years to a decade or more. These batteries hold a huge amount of energy and there is even a risk of fire if they are left at 100% full charge all the time. Treat 100% full charge as an occasional and short exception just to reset the BMV monitor, and then get them back down from 100% to 85% fairly quickly by running some electrical stuff.
@BoatTime2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! Good to know 😊 Luckily we use a lot of power so they rarely stay at 100%

Hi Ami, Wes, Great Vlog again this week. A lot has been going on. Good to see your friends visiting, and what a long way TO WALK back to go for their car, but still, Rufus enjoyed his extended walk. Nice to see Rupey too. Wes is a good cook, the Lasagne looked so delish, as did his breakfast the next morning.Great to see your new batteries installed, but then saddened when the inverter was found to be faulty, but all is well now with your new inverter. So good to see how excited Amy gets when things go right!!! The Argy Bargey game made me laugh, Amy was so funny trying to bend the rules (of the game), and even more amusing was, Wes was having none of that. So funny and it made brilliant video footage. Amy quite rightly pampered herself after all the stress, in a Spar, and well deserved too. A really polished and entertaining Vlog, and so well edited. You guys, and the animals are just so great. Have a lovely week. Take care.

Hi Amy and Wes. Glad you enjoyed a lovely weekend with your friends. Bet it was lovely to go for that walk but it turned out to be a bit of a marathon. It was brilliant to see your excitement of being able to use so many things at the same time after the battery upgrade😄. Sorry that you then had the stress of the inverter failure, but on the positive side it looks as if it was worth the upgrade to remove the old faulty one. I’m really impressed with the editing on this video Wes. I know how much time and effort editing takes. I look forward to watching your videos each week. They are so real and enjoyable. Have a lovely weekend. Take care. Nick

Absolutely fantastic! Wes, "I'm fixing things!" 😂 I'm kind of surprised that an electrician would install all of the new equipment and not check out the whole system it's running on. Especially when they found things done incorrectly to begin with. Seems a bit neglectful to me. At least you're all set and safe now. POWER UP! Stay safe and well.
@BoatTime2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! 😊 Just to be clear it was our decision initially to keep our inverter and just go for the batteries as we couldn’t really afford both in one go and the inverter was still working. We were going to give it maybe another 8-12 months and then go for the inverter install. But then when the inverter started playing up too we called the electrician back out and bit the bullet with the inverter install too. So glad we did 😊
