Which boosts the video's presence into the feeds of more people. Good comments typically don't get a reply and maybe just a thumbs up. Which is actually worse for boosting the algorithm and helping more people find the video. It's a double edge sword. It's also how so much fake garbage and conspiracy theory videos get bumped higher. Oh and lastly, dont have our bro Terence near the test, d'ckhead is -12watts standing still.

upgrades: (used or new) SLR 01 Fork to route cables internally.$300-450 stem/handlebar combo from like Yoeleo or EXS or winspace (something fairly reputable). $1000 Wheelsfar (farsport) carbon spoke wheels - 50x31.5 at 1200 grams (half my race team has these wheels). $60 3d saddle from aliexpress. plus tires and tubes you already have. My guess is your bike with these upgrades will be about 500 grams heavier than the super bike, but should then perform just as well. This would be roughly at the $2K upgrade price point in USD depending on the cost of the fork.

Zero friction cycling has tons of data on how many watts a chain can drain from you. 10 or 15 watts from a dirty chain isn't a big deal for casual riding but it certainly makes a difference for tests like this. Even the brand of chain can be about 2 or 3 watt difference when all else is equal. It's one of the reasons I switched to Silca hot wax. Fastest lube, dirt gets carried out as you ride rather than mixing with a wet lube and turning into a grinding paste, and you can put your fingers all over the drive train with absolutely no oil or greasy residue whatsoever. Your chain needs to be CLEAN before the first time you wax it though. I mean like surgical levels of clean. Much easier if you start with a brand new chain.

Hoo boy! We’re talking marginal gains here, aren’t we? I have yet to go tubeless; I ride on Hed Jet Black 6 wheels with Specialized Turbo Cotton tires(26mm front and the 28mm rear) and Challenge latex tubes. I love the combination and get really good mileage out of the mix. I have found that if I do not coat the tubes and the insides of the tires with talcum powder, BEFORE mounting them, that the reliability goes right down the toilet. I think the latex tubes cannot squirm freely enough inside the apparently latex-coated tires and the tubes don’t like that.

Even more interesting it would be to test how close you can get to the super bike with affordable upgrades, when you take a real entry level bike as base

The price difference between bikes is very large. It makes me think, that unless you're actively racing, it's just not worth it. What time difference might you achieve if you increased your FTP by 10 watts, or, if you carry excess weight, reduced it? The TPU tubes represent a good investment, in that they're apparently more puncture resistant and have lower rolling resistance that a standard tube. If you puncture it's many minutes and hastle onto your ride.
@LukeGJPotter7 ай бұрын
At 3:51, you're only cleaning the outside of the chain, which is pointless for short-term performance. You're only removing the grinding paste. Put the chain in a bottle with degreeser and shake it, as this will penetrate the insides (pins and rollers) of the chain. Also, you should be cross-chained with relubing, as that will get more lube into the pins and rollers. I remember hearing that a chain lubed when cross-chained was heavier, as it held more lube.
