Speaking of upgrades, a few weeks back I quizzed Danny about the necessity to change out an old dental floss type air core inductor in my speakers Tweeter section. All I can say is, wow!! It made a huge difference. I just happened to have an Erse foil copper coil lying around that was rated at 0.39mh. Just what I needed. Amazing lift in dynamics, and stereo separation, and overall clarity. Thanks Danny!!

I just finished restoring some RS4B's. I can assure anyone here that it is very worth restoring them. That speaker is capable of sounding much better than either of the others as long as that Samarium Cobalt ribbon isn't screwed up. And even then, replacing the diaphragm or magnet on those units is cheap, easy and bears outstanding results. Availability of the woofers is minimal right now, however.

The base LSA 1 speaker as legend goes was built in China ( as they all are) and when you upgraded to the Signature ( middle) and Statement ( top) you get a ring tweeter in the Signature and a ribbon tweeter in the Statement, both were supposed to get a John Tucker rebuilt crossover and real wool stuffing. I purchased the middle Signature and it sounds terrific. The Statement got rave reviews. The base model you have there is the generic Chinese model with no upgrades. So the legend goes:) When asked why the Signature and Statement were upgraded in the states by John Tucker of Exemplar Audio and not just built in China with upgrades,, the legend states it was so the Chinese would not copy Tuckers crossover. Would love to hear from Wally of Underwood HiFi and see if the legend is true:) Wally is a good dude

That said, it could a dtill fun DIY project just to gain some practice, & it should be pretty easy to at least break even!

Woofer had 0.82mh 18ga that I have replaced with foil copper inductor 16ga and it also made this woofer more effortless and open with less muddy and better defined bass I got rid off crossover board and just mounted the parts to bottom of cabinet . After 100hrs or so these sound amazing.
