Uplifting Tour at Laeiszhalle event hall in Hamburg, Germany

Schönes Beispiel für einen Aufzug mit Trommelwinde und Gegengewicht (~13:00): das Seilpaar, das von der Unterseite der Trommel in den Schacht führt, trägt das Gegengewicht. Die Kabine hängt am oberen Strang. Währenddem sich ein Seilpaar aufwickelt, wickelt das andere sich ab. Schön auch zu sehen, wie dabei die beiden Umlenkrollen sich seitlich auf der Achse verschieben. Der Loher-Motor ist natürlich neu. Habe ich mir sehr gerne angesehen!

Looks like no interlock. You could operate this elevator with the doors open??

the shaft doors have interlocks which may have been added later on. The inner doors have not, but the lift has a weight-detecting floor and doesn't move as long as someone is in the lift and the inner doors are open

Fully agree with PostTower - just like to add another comment: typically, the cabin-doors don't have interlocks even with new elevators.

Uplifting PostTower - Elevation since 2008 that's an interesting safety feature.

back around the 1900's - 1950's this was a common feature but mostly limited to Germany, Switzerland, Austria and also some eastern european countries such as Poland. Today it's quite rare to find these and the feature is also very much unknown in many other countries like Sweden or across the ocean...
