The Uplink 5500M is a dual-SIM universal communicator designed to be used with the Uplink app and Central Station. With both ATT and Verizon SIM cards in the unit, you'll be able to choose whichever option provides the best signal at the install location. The 5500M is designed with 4 negative trigger inputs allowing you to connect the bell circuit of your panel, along with other devices you may potentially want to be notified about. In today's video Hayden showcases the unit, and provides a short tutorial for how the 5500M would connect to the DSC PowerSeries NEO system. Other systems may have slightly different connection methods. Once connected, if you use the bell circuit of your alarm system the 5500M is able to read the voltage during an alarm to determine if the alarm is a burglary or fire alarm. You'll have the option to just use the Uplink app to set up email and text notifications, or you may also connect the Uplink to a Central Station to send alarm signals.
