Uplink is a bit of a lesser known alarm system service that offers universal communicators that are great for legacy alarm systems. There are 2 communicators they offer at the time this video is released, which are the 5530M and the 5500M. The 5530M showcased in this video offers a more integrated connection to certain panels, whereas the 5500M counterpart is better at taking over systems you might not have the ability to program or adjust. The 5530M provides a connection to the CORBUS of certain legacy alarm systems such as the DSC PowerSeries and the Honeywell Vista panel, as well as a few others. In this video Hayden goes over the 5530Ms capabilities and provides an example of how the unit can be wired. The method used will not work for every alarm system as they are all different but will give you an idea of what is needed to run the Uplink Communicator
Using the Uplink communicator requires the Uplink alarm service, and you may also add Central Station service if you wish. The Uplink service provides you with a simple interactive app whose main job is to provide notifications. It can arm and disarm your panel if you wire up the communicator to do so.
