@flying2lowAK certainly you don’t because that’s false. Lmao you’re comparing a natural occurrence the purest form of ecosystem regeneration to bulldozing through the tundra disturbing everything with daddy’s 100+k toys to “feed yourself” these rich kids are a joke. Completely defeats the purpose of hunting and the connection you get with the environment and authenticity of why outdoorsmen love the wild and our tradition of feeding ourselves.

Pro tip, get or make an insulated foil bag (foil, bubble wrap, foil) for those Mountain House, or any, freeze dried meals. Fill the bag, stir and place in your insulated bag for 15-30 minutes and you will have a meal like it just came off the stove! COMPLETELY rehydrates the food and comes out PIPING HOT! Only problem is not burning your mouth🤪

Thank you for the Bible verse and I'm glad you got to experience the Alaskan moose hunt. Most of rural Alaskan depend on a subsistence lifestyle. So hunting is not always about the fun but it is for us to survive the long cold winter months. Good luck next year!

I am only asking because i have always wanted to do a trip on horseback but now my life has kinda changed a bit....with a diagnosed rare muscle disease so my ability to walk far is comprimised. The serps do make lots of noise which does'nt help for the hunt but for the body it helps lots..... happy hunting and enjoy what life has to offer..
@UpNorthOutdoors2 ай бұрын
This actually wasn’t a guided trip. We ran our own Sherp and the other 2 sherps are friends of mine with their own Sherps. Jeremy in the video used to guide in Alaska years ago. He was the one with the moose hunting experience and knew where to go. That sucks to hear about your health, that definitely makes it tough to get out. The Sherps sure help with getting out and being able to call out of during the rut. The moose don’t care about the noise of the Sherps. We saw more moose running the sherps than we did hiking miles on foot. Jeremy has shot countless moose out of the roof hatch calling in the late season.

Amazing adventure! Wish I had a spare $100K to drop on a Sherp. I’ll have to stick with my $2K used four wheeler. It was a good move to pass on that first bull. My friend is on the road kill list and he just got a call from the Troopers. He picked up a moose that had been quarter and was in game bags that some other hunter had shot and turned in because it was sub-legal. It was good of him to do the right thing and call the Troopers but he did all the work and my friend’s family got the benefit.
