Basics - due to the simplicity of the movement patterns, not in relation to the difficulty level. Its like a lifter will refer to the Squat, Deadlift and the Military Press as basics, although he might be lifting a lot of weight on those movements. The Upper Body Strength Basics (some of which are on the video but there are others on my 10 Basics list) represent very simple movement patterns in a few different vectors. When those are addressed - a firm foundation for movement options is possible. As for myself - I am no master and of an average strength potential. I worked HARD to acquire those skills - each and every one and these days - I don't look much beyond... BASICS.

What is a "vector"? Did you intend to say sector?
@jollycoop67048 жыл бұрын
+closinginonclosure No, you can imagine a vector as an arrow that has a specific length and direction. For example if you would want to describe a force graphically you would do that by using a vector. For further information look it up on the internet.

What about the smith machine bench press and cable isolation curls?
@MrRizo239 жыл бұрын
( ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ ) What about them?
@MrRizo238 жыл бұрын
+Dennis V Thanks captain obvious :P Ido portal is mostly about functional and natural movements that don't use machines, he's mostly into calisthenics, maybe (?) with some added weight at times. .. and the guy who I replied to asked "what about smith machine bench press and cable iso curls? " And when I said "what about them? " I wasn't asking if they are good to do, I was asking: ( or thinking rather ) "what about those silly machine dependent exercises? you think Ido would waste his time on those? lol..
@MrRizo238 жыл бұрын
Nothing. I have no problem with kidding around :D Occasionally I might not get it when someone is joking or being sarcastic, esp. when it's typed and there is no hint... but hey, I'm only human, I make mistakes too, and sometimes I take things seriously, sorry about that..
@gergohun0018 жыл бұрын
MrRizo23 It was a joke, calm down...
@MrRizo238 жыл бұрын
Alright, Fair enough... Some people are all about those kinds of exercises though, so it's not that hard for me imagine that someone would ask that kind of question without being sarcastic.

How can anyone hate on Ido ? He demonstrates his skills as anyone would, but is highlighting the importance of basics read the end of the video and his comment. It's the hard work day in and day out that got him to that level and I'm sure most days he practiced basic. So inspiring !

Great stuff, Ido. I, as someone who is about to get into movement and locomotion and all, am wondering, where stretching comes into the equation. I played soccer for more than ten years, so there is some catching up to do as far as stretching is concerned... It seems, that in order to succeed in doing your exercises, my body needs to be well stretched. So here is my question: Would you recommend me starting to stretch every day before I start the actual work outs or would you say, that in trying the work outs right away, the stretching will come naturally? Thank you in advance, Simon

These are basics because we should have never stopped doing things that made us this strong. Everyone should use ido Portal methods. It's the way people think about things that keeps them from being strong like this. I practice his methods myself and my students and it WORKS! But if you can't see it then it's not meant for you. Seriously everyone who watches this should aspire to have that kind of strength and nothing will stop you from doing it. You think people who are STRONG like that are poor? Hell no. They are to strong in the mind. You become super human. Look at how much ido charges for his training seminars and people pay it! Why? Cuz it works and it's his school of thought that makes it have an incentive. The man is brilliant and a blessing. Don't let it be a burden. I'll see him soon. #gddt #thereisnotomorrow
