I just realized an “easy” way to remember what quality of chord each time. You just have to know what major scale the chord is from & the substitute chords are diatonic to that scale. A major 7 is A major scale A minor 7 is C major scale A7 is D major scale Hence over A minor 7 C major E minor G major all C major chords. Over A7 C#° Em G major all D major chords. The only place it comes unstuck is the G#m over the A major 7 but that’s because the sharp 4 was used which isn’t in A major. 😅

I know it would been a lot of editing to do but I would love to see on the screen what each chord is as far as one, four, five, major, minor etc.. i can hear the 4 and 5 and back to 1 and all that but as you move around with different voicings with not visual chord reference i get lost. We all learn in different ways and my best way is with a lot of visuals for reference. jus throwin that out there.
