As a former military and 30 year airline pilot who did upset training in the 90's in jumbo jets, I believe AOPA can do much better than this video. It was confusing as to what the video was intending to accomplish. Many errors as well. I would remove it from KZbin.

@@Devyn_LV Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, Devin. AOPA is unparalleled in its contribution to GA safety. No other organization can touch it with their ASI videos and True Confession articles. They are to only contributor to having the pilots and techs talk and work with each other. They are a for-profit company and have many facets. Some mare good and some no so good.

It’s not even called that anymore. Who cares what the term is. You and every other pilot knows what it means regardless. I can’t understand why so many pilots get all bent out of shape over these types of things. Especially when we have the drone board pushing to remove cockpit when they don’t even have cockpits for god sakes. Or airman/airmen. Bird brained people. Majority of humans are completely ass backwards in what they prioritize and how they think and what they feel is important. Smh.

I second this, and HIGHLY recommend those videos. Particularly relevant from this is "Unusual Attitude Recovery", but the others about microbursts and CFIT and automation dependence are, IMO, all absolutely mandatory for anyone who even thinks they might one day touch a commercial aircraft. Van was a boss, he came up on fighter jets right in that middle period where they were aerodynamically high-strung, but didn't yet have any augmentation systems to help you. Did three decades in fighters and three decades with AAL. He's also easily top-5 best public speakers I have ever seen.
